Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I keep my road bike leaned against the wall in a corner of the main part of the finished basement, and the rest of my bikes and bike stuff in the unfinished laundry room. That's also where I'll work on the bikes. Don't want to spill lube on the carpet.

I could have one heck of a bike room if I can get my son to move out. But for now, they are in a large shed in the back yard. These photos give me something to look forward to.

The custom built work bench is on the opposite (corner of it seen in the lower right side). 5 bikes living in there right now (6 when my wife wheels her Electra in there). One of the bikes on the rack is going to have to be evicted in the spring when my new ride arrives. Not sure where it's going to be evicted to, but the Kirk is getting a spot on the wall.

Bikes Aloft 2 or something like that. Sold by Nashbar / Performance. They work well, and if you position them in a corner you can even mount a bike on the back side too that you don't get to as often. Had one set up that way in the old apartment.

Commuter hangs up on the wall next to the kitchen table.

LD bike sits in a seldom-used hallway.

I need to move to a bigger place before my wife will let me buy another bike.

This is my weekday apartment. I got a two bedroom for a reason.....

Pending builds and some polishing going on.

Eisentraut Limited

The second bedroom-parts, the commuter and MtB's.

The recipient of the parts being polished...and more parts

I'll add pics of bikes at the weekend house and my girlfriend's house at a later date. Yes, I love bikes.
