How to pronounce Shimano Tiagra?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't Americans pronounce "viagra" as "vie-a-gra" where the "vie" sounds like "pie" and the "a" is the "a" from "can"?
Most bicycle names are from French or Italian and in both French and Italian the "ti" in "tiagra" is pronounced "tee" as in the english word "tea" but a bit shorter ... then also the "a" is not pronounced as the "a" in "can", since that is not an acutal "a" at all but more something of an "èè" ... but it is pronounced like the vowel in "die" before the ending "jj" sound. I can't find any other word in English the uses an actual "aa" vowel.
... or maybe you just say "viagra" differently

For years my brother pronounced Ultegra Ul-trey-guh. I noticed last year, after he bought his Ultegra equipped Madone, that he was pronouncing it correctly.

wow, I didnt know some of you really knew French anymore. Kung Fous, cute.

The "ils sont fous ces romains" is from a French bande dessiné, comic book series, Asterix et Obelix. That saying is what they would always say about the Romans (its set back in the Roman empire days, the main characters are Gauls or whatever) and that saying is kind of a popular catch phrase for when a "they're crazy" comment is appropriate.
I didnt really read Asterix et Obelix, but the saying is well known and said around here (and I'm English).

Its a good place, I remember the dad from years ago, was always a friendly fellow. Was sorry to hear of his passing. I've been going in once in a while for well over 20 years and recommend it to people still.

Happy holidays.
