Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

broke part of toupe does it matter?

I was on my trainer after standing for a moment came back down a little funny never happened before ended up popping out of one of my cleats and landing on the back of the saddle snapping the little wing off. Does it matter that it broke off it doesn't seem like it would. On top of it ended up whacking the goods pretty hard and not in the good way lol.

Take it to a specialized dealer. I swapped 2 toupes. One was 3 yrs old and 2 years out of warranty. But they just grabbed one from the display and gave it to me. Gotta love specialized!

Thanks for the info ill take it to the dealer and see what they can do.

I also have no clue why those are there not having them has to have a few grams of savings?

Actually I think I want to goto a narrower size I'm relatively small (5'10 155-160 right now) and some how ended up with a 155 I believe i need a 143.

Out of curiosity any one ever ride the sworks version I'm on the quest to get my bike a bit more under 15 lbs and every gram will count soon. Wanted to see how it compares in feel to the other toupes.

If you look on the underside, the little wing has a screw holding it in place. If it didn't break off clean you can remove it entirely that way. Or the other one to make it match.

Just do it to the other side now. You won't even remember they were once there.

That piece and the nose piece are notorious for breaking/falling off. Dumb design...those pieces don't serve a purpose.

Yeah, I kinda thought about that too. Sorta looks like they help to secure the saddle material in those areas?
