Blizzard warning.

Blizard warning for Denver Metro Area

IF (repeat IF) the warning comes true, this will be the biggest February storm in Denver in recorded history. Up to 28 inches of snow. February is normally a dry month for us. This is revenge for the fact that I have been able to ride most days this winter.

"... Blizzard Warning now in effect until 5 am MST Saturday...

* timing... snow... heavy at times will continue through Friday
night... then gradually decrease by Saturday morning.

* Snow accumulations... total accumulations of 18 to 28 inches
can be expected.

* Winds/visibility... north winds will increase to 20 to 30 after
midnight and continue on Friday... with gusts up to 40 mph.
Blizzard conditions will develop after midnight and continue
through Friday evening with visibilities near zero at times. "

It is headed EAST!!

Saw the projection maps last night while watching the Weather Channel. Y'all please stay safe, I know that you handle these yearly but, please don't get in any bad situations. Indoor trainer, sufferfest and gym time now.

And if it is anything like here, the stores have been stripped bare of milk, bread, and eggs.
Good luck.

We are expecting our first and probably only snowfall this weekend. Queues at the petrol stations were horrific this afternoon. After two bad long hard winters no-one is taking a chance. It will be gone by Monday in any case but I can't see what the fuss is going to be over 4" max of the white stuff.

My Mom is hunkered down in Estes Park. She is 95. I hope she can make it through this... My sister is there to help.

If she lives in Estes, she is tough. This is only a passing storm. The sun will come out and it will melt. She will be fine.

Not much in Ft. Collins -- I think I've gotten a few inches. But a friend of mine up in Rist Canyon (ie not far away, but higher up), has already gotten 2 feet of snow.

Holy Smurf! I thought they only did that in the Boston area. People started doing this after the legendary Blizzard of '78. There are also runs on gas stations, and.. Laundromats. Yep, people are worried that they will not be able to do laundry.

This winter has been very mild for us, but last year, it was storm after storm. At this point last year, we had about 60 inches of snow on the ground. The good news was that people hardened up to the storms. Anything less than a foot was considered kid stuff.

Don't forget, it's milk, bread, eggs, and ,,, D and AA Cell batteries.

To folks in Denver, Stay safe.

No problems here--gorgeous ride today in the low to mid 60s--too bad I have a bad cold but I had to ride over the Oakland/Berkeley hills!

I may regret it tomorrow!

Enjoy the cold weather and the snow and stay safe!

We always said this happens every time the weatherman issues a "French toast alert".

Looks like things are slowing down a bit. I've snowblowed once, and it pretty much drifted back in. About 12-15 inches so far.

Tonight
Snow. Additional snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Lows 16 to 20. North winds 15 to 25 mph.
Saturday
Mostly cloudy. Chance of snow in the morning...then a slight chance of snow in the afternoon. Highs in the mid to upper 20s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph. Chance of snow 40 percent.
Saturday Night

I walked out into the drift - over 3 feet, and cleaned the satellite dish of snow. All works now.

That event is headed our way across I-80 tonight. We could easily get eight inches of snow. Looks like my Seasonal Affective Order is in serious danger this weekend.

Now where is that chili I bought?

Got the fat bike out and put the Nate tires on it. Spent 3 hours putzing around South Denver enjoying the quiet streets.

Yes, it really wasn't anything like the forecast, which is far too typical. However, I do have about 18 inches of snow to blow this am.
