it's apparent now that you're just a mountain biker that wants an SS commuter so he isn't lugging an expensive and heavy mtb to work all the time and can rep his shop at any point without putting any work into a nice SS bike.

you just want our signing off on your choice because you want to be sure you'll have the most street cred possible while choosing a lower end but still legitimate bike.

get the bianchi or the jamis and make sure it has a tasteful "maine bike shop" sticker on the seattube near the bb. that's all you want, that's all you're willing to accept. the bianchi will turn more heads though.

since you're more concerned with calling us hipsters than taking any advice on which bike is better or accepting any other options that are better, then i think it just makes sense for you to get whatever bike you want and forget that you ever asked for our opinions.

what mt bike are you getting?

i'm trying to convince myself that i should get a Transition instead of a GT force 1. so much money though... le sigh.

+1 for transition. Almost walked home with a tramsAM a couple weeks ago.

Oh yeah, get the Jamis.

Too bad you can't read. look at my signature, those are the bikes I currently own. No mountain bike, and i haven't for 4 years. I'm a roadie.

*Sigh* If only natural selection were to come back...

o.O Did you really respond to someone telling you that no matter what bike they suggested, you already had it in your mind that it was more important which LBS sticker was on the seat tube than what you rode with "natural selection." Seriously? You leaped to hoping people were eradicated because they disagreed with you?

I think what it boils down to, is that of the bikes that you listed, there is no real "wrong" choice. They're all decent bikes.

LOL WTF

He asked for opinions on four pre-selected bikes. He even put up pretty pictures.

So dig into the bunghole for two cents on the four bikes he wanted the two cents on.
What is the big deal?

No, every one of those bikes represents the same LBS. The one I work for. My last post was sighing for cc700 because he was accusing me of being a mountain biker and simply couldn't read what as already written (not just my current bikes, but I did say the bike's purpose would be just to get around town.) The same reason I am *sigh* again: People don't read.

The natural selection statement was to point out that if it were to take it's course again, we wouldn't have such incompetent people in communities.

yeah, with natural selection, maybe people would be able to choose a bike for themselves or maybe accept the opinions of others after asking for it............

^ I never had a problem with people's opinions on the models I started the thread with. Many didn't want to give any opinion on the bikes I was asking about.

I might point out that you're calling one of the most informed posters I've met in a half dozen years here as "incompetent." I think he got frustrated because was merely making an alternative suggestion which you bypassed by saying it was too celeste; even though it was the best bang for the buck and a beautiful bike, then made a hipster reference. It definitely was an opinion that was valid. This is the reason people have gotten into the habit of just telling people to buy a kilo TT and be done with it.

yeah dude, i'm sorry but wishing me dead and calling me incompetent because i didn't read your signature is stupid.

so you're a roadie, not a mountain biker. sorry, i guess i'll just die now.

seriously dude, what's your deal? i did give you my opinion on the bikes you requested.

you're acting like working at a bike shop is some ****ing gold medal they only give to the champions of life. You're not charlie sheen and if you were a successful roadie, you wouldn't need our help picking a terrible, ****ty, bottom of the range bike.

my point remains, you want this bike for a cheap trendy commuter that will turn heads. otherwise you'd just ride your road bikes to work.

oh noes, darwin is back!
