Just a few pictures of the finished bicycle for all the "toaster bike" fans out there. Columbus Tretubi and Suntour Superbe Pro components.

Just for fun...

Being a Panasonic nut often requires a sense of humor.

Wow, that is nice. Was this bike ever ridden? It looks like it just came out of a box.

Wiat till you see the frame coming your way. It will blow your mind. Its like you died and woke up in 1988 with a team custom frame new and unmolested by inferior bicycle parts.

Well thank you. Yes, this bike was most definitely ridden. It is actually one of the "rougher" bikes in my collection in terms of the starting condition. When I purchased it (via Craigslist near Indianapolis) it was filthy and had numerous scratches and what not. I paid $250 for the bike and was lucky enough to have my friend's sister living right in that area so she picked up the bike for me and actually brought it to Minneapolis during her next visit. I was very lucky, and as it would turn out my luck would get better.

My friend calls me and tells me that the bike had arrived at his place and that the owner send along some extra parts. Hmmm... ok? When I actually get the bike I'm a bit dismayed to see that the set of Araya Aero clinchers that were on it had actually been drilled out to accommodate schrader valves rather than presta. ARGH! But just then my buddy pulls out an extra set of wheels... literally NOS looking Araya Aero tubulars also with Superbe Pro hubs etc! Problem solved! On top of that, he also had given me some NOS brake hoods, chain rings and down tube shifters. Not a half bad deal in the end.

That is gorgeous! Yours is definitely more "correct" since you've got the black turbo saddle and black brake hoods. Those brake hoods are pretty close to being unobtainium, so don't crash her.

Oh yeah, pretty excited about that as well. I'm thinking Sante build for that one.

Next on deck is for me to complete the PR-6000 project. I suspect it will be a real eye popper when done.

Super. It's clearly too big in light of your other Panasonics. Send to me UPS Ground @ ....

You're technically correct. This is pretty much the largest bike I can comfortably ride. I'm more of a FedEx Ground kind of guy so I'm afraid UPS won't do.

Cool bike. I was aware of the Team Europe and Team America, didn't know there was a Team Japan.
Isolationist thinking, again.

Skip the shipping. I will make the drive to the other side of town to pick it up.

I actually lived in Woodbury for a while some years back... that would have been even easier for you. Once I can get the entire collection together here in MN you're welcome to come check it out. At the moment I have bikes scattered across several states. I need more room here.
