Boyds Cycling?
My LBS starting selling boyds. Any idea if these are taiwanese with his name stickered on them? To me, thats wrong. The way I took it, he builds the entire wheel in house and this may be true but Im not sure. Anyone?

why didn't you just ask your lbs? The idea of having stickers made just to slap on some wheels seems like a lot of work. Why would you think that Boyd wouldn't wholesale?

Hey there, we are using a mixture of Taiwanese and Belgian parts for our wheels. The rims and hubs are made for us in Taiwan, and we are using Sapim CX Ray spoke on all our builds. We then handbuild every wheelset in Greenville, SC (we just moved into a new facility and have hired a couple additional wheelbuilders).
If you have any questions about our builds or the wheels in general you can email me off forum at boyd at boydcycling dot com. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions. Glad your bike shop in on board!

I had some questions about Boyd's wheels, so I sent him an email. The next day I got a note back from the guy, with a detailed answer to everything I'd asked.
My Boyd wheels are pretty sweet, especially for the price.

Two guys on my team just got sets this week. They look nice and first reports are that they are stiffer than the Zipp 404s they are replacing.

Iv been on my boyd 58 carbon clinchers for a couple weeks now... wheels are just great, and you can't beat Boyd's service. A couple times now I had some questions, and you can call and Boyd answers the phone himself.... always polite and always very helpful.

Another happy customer here. Been riding my 50mm carbon clinchers for a year now and they are fantastic wheels. Good customer service as well, can't go wrong.

I don't understand why he didn't answer and say "yes, we have dealers". I think that was the purpose of this thread.

Sorry, "yes, we have dealers" :-)
In all seriousness, we don't have that many dealers but are adding more very gradually. We don't want to bring on 50 at once and not be able to serve them so we tend to open 2-3 per month. Usually a customer gets the shop to call us.

I have saved the link to these exact wheels in my favorites, so please post how you like 'em when they arrive! Pics too!!! I have the idea that they would be the perfect climbing wheel for the mountains around Boone.

58mm could be too much for windy coastal plains, and some mountains, which is my terrain.
Ordered the 24/28 spoke count for durability since roads around this parts can be rough.
Im off the bike currently, had a crash 4 weeks ago and my MD is keeping me from riding...
had a minor tibia fracture. Hopefully it wont take too long to get back what i've lost. I worry my cycling friends will destroy me...
sweet and sour moment
