Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I bought some Fyxation Rodeo Pursuit handlebars, so far I like them better than my rode drops.

Easton EA70 Road Bars. I have no purpose for these but the seller was 2 blocks away and they were dirt cheap.

Got some Perfomance bike carbon bar tape to try on my drops. Next time I'm gonna try Lizard Skins.

And not really for my bike, but I got a new cycling cap

Yeah the bars are integrated with basket. Wish it had a little more back sweep and was a bit longer, Im just used to riding super wide downhill bars.

Agreed! But then i learned:

1) both stems are made by Nitto; and
2) they are pretty much the same stem, with the main difference being the expander wedge at the bottom.

600 = steel wedge
DA = aluminum cone

resulting in a tiny bit of weight savings on the DA.

Pretty much; I just kept it short. Anyhow if you came to terms with polishing off the 600 silkscreen, you can probably convince people that's DA once installed.

Which strangely (and sadly) actually matters to some people on BF.

It's the warm and fuzzy feeling deep down inside. Keeping it short: placebo effect.

Ha! Actually I just went one step further and slapped a VTEC sticker on there. Not enough room on the front for "Powered by Rice".

EDIT: just realized that I have an unassembled model AE86 at my parents' place (file under 'silly eBay purchases circa 2001'). The decal that says "APEX Twin Cam 16" would be the perfect size. Doriftoooooo!
