Someone who gets to work before I wake up, rebuilds SA hubs in his sleep, swills premier beer (brought some to the show last week - yum), steals my swap meet sales,
and charms the ladies (I made that one up) I understand he has seen the light!

A Pronouncement

Firstly, thanks to everyone for their compliments, observations and witty comments. I am flattered, yet humbled, by the kindness of my peers here in C&V land.

Secondly, this thread is very confusing to me as a person. Anyone who knows me well knows that I'm pretty modest in my estimation of myself, with only enough ego thrown in to keep my self-effacing tendencies in check.

Thanks again guys and gals!

It was macaroni salad. The beer was already there in the fridge! I took along a case of brew. If you didn't get any of the good stuff, I can't help that as there was plenty to go around!

Great. Now I need to watch Lawrence of Arabia, as if I didn't already have enough things to do. Oh sigh.

The "great minds" expression isn't really meant to be taken at face value, is it? I always took it to be a bit winky- we always think people we agree with are smart. For example, I think photogravity is brilliant.

...unaware (I think) that he spoke, and rode a bit, with a hot and spent bikamper at the the Lake Pepin 3 Speed Tour.

That Norman scoots.

Photogravity is.....

Indeed, I believe I rode a couple segments on Saturday with you. I think I caught up with you as the sag was arriving for your friends and rode a while. The last I remember you took a left off the main route as we rode into Nelson. Maybe you were headed for BBQ?

To be fair, you had a pretty heavily laden bike, and the Norman's ability to scoot was not hindered by all that extra weight.

mkeller was using hyperbole when he said "extremely generous", believe me! With the cost of college rising at a rate way higher than inflation it might pay for a pack of pencils or something like that...

Yep. The left in Nelson was for something cold and non-alcoholic to drink. The load doesn't make much difference, either the bike or I am slow.
