Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Raleigh Revenio 1.0 - what do you think?

What do you think of the Raleigh Revenio 1.0 as an entry-level carbon fiber bike? What are the pros and cons?

I've had my 30 pound steel-aluminum dinosaur for a year and the "motor" is in pretty good shape. But now it's time to step up to a cool carbon fiber bike.

Oh yeah, how do you find out the weight? It's supposedly full carbon so should be under 20, but isn't listed. What do you think of this bike?.

that link is to the aluminum frame Revenio. Raleigh makes a carbon version of the Revenio seen here https://www.raleighusa.com/bikes/road...carbon-1-0-13/
I think for the price you could get last years closeout (alum or carbon) with a better groupset if you wait a month or so.

Whoa. That's the bike the dealer has in his store, and he didn't correct me when I told him it looks like a good carbon bike. Thanks for the heads up. (I deleted that link from my post.)

Also, there are good comments about the Scott CR1 Team in other discussions, other than the pain-in-the-ass seat. Any comments about that one?

I'm only interested in full carbon.

I have the Revenio Carbon 1. Purchased in late June..I got a good discount then and a $100 rebate from Raleigh at the time.

I am enjoying the bike. I'm older and new to this but I have had not issues with daily rides and rides up to 40 miles. Comfortable and solid.

The Revenio line gets the carbon fork when you go to the 2 series.

One of the keys to buying the right carbon bike: making sure it is a carbon bike.

Same advice is true for finding the right woman.

Make darn sure it is a woman.

Sign that you need a new dealer.

The Revenio 3.0 (Aluminum) is cheaper, and comes with 105. I would have bought one if the geometry were a little more aggressive but I spent some time on it and it was very comfortable and fun to ride.
