Good Racing Seat that doesnt Creak

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Have you ever tried to diagnose why it creaks? My Arione started to creak and it drove me nuts. Took the saddle off the rails and a little bit of grease on the rails took care of it.

My last saddle creaked. My new saddle doesn't creak at all but I bought it because my old saddle was an ass hatchet and my SMP isn't.

It's a saddle, not a seat. Specialized Toupe.

Try greasing the rails, and all the bolts. I bought a TCR 0 recently that had a Fizik on it... christ the thing drove me nuts, I pulled it apart one day greased every nut, bolt, thread in the seat & post, put carbon paste on the rails. She has been dead silent for months now.

You're doing it wrong!

But, seriously, the choices are so endless when it comes to saddles. Find out what your LBS carries and start with those. See if they have a test saddle program.

Maybe it's the post that's creaking and not the saddle?

What kind of creaking?

I think you need to diagnose the source before throwing money at it.

I dripped a little Phil's Tenacious Oil into the joints where the rails attach to the shell. That helps.
