aosom electric trailer
I found out the hard way that camping with a trailer is not that easy without training, but i loved it and want to do it again next year with a little help maybe,i don't want a motor on the bicycle (found this online look at pics)i would prefer a mid drive or a hub motor.
Mid drive would involve welding an cutting and it gives me more power for hills and cargo weight. On the other hand hub motor easy to install and i can always just take it off.
Good idea bad idea?
Does anybody know a hub motor with a push axle?
I have a aosom elite 2 trailer
Folding Frame
Trailer weight: 35lbs
Max loading weight: 180lb
Size: 31" long x 30" wide x 24" high
20" tires "i replaced them with no flat tires "

ok first off, mid-drive would not involve any cutting or welding. Just install it and your off. Most Mid-drive system (good ones) are just bolt on and go. Like this one. https://www.gngebike.com/450wbrushless.htm It has a top speed of 31 to 37 MPH on most MTB's. Depends on what gears you have on the bike.
A trail mounted motor does good on the road. But on the lose dirt they break traction and push off sideways. So scents you want it to go camping I'd say a Hub or mid-drive would be the best.
What I'd do if I was you is mid-drive with a say 10ah battery on the bike. And then mount 10ah or more on the trailer. This way you can get about 15 mile range with the bike alone and 15 or more miles with the trailer. So when you need more power while puller the trailer you will have it.

Sorry when i said mid drive i wanted on the trailer, the cutting part would be to reinforced and cut a hole in the middle put a long axle whit a sprocket and have power on both wheels and no one would know its electric. The battery i have 2 deep cycle 100ah that i bought a couple of years back because the blackout in NY and their in great shape.
I found a attachable sprocket with mount(see pic),not sure if welding wouldn't be better but if they but gas engines on them they should hold with on electric.
(Sorry for the pic not good drawing)
