I couldn't find good fenders for my stock 2.2 tires. Now running 1.95 Kenda small block 8 so it should be easier to find something that can fit the right way and still look good.

I don't have a lot of experience with winter biking, but I've always enjoyed good, cold, snowy, winters. What I dislike the most is listening to everyone complain about that which I enjoy.

As for the layering up hassle - I've never seen it as the inconvenience of dressing up. I've always hated that so many people keep buildings so darn hot that you have to undress to stay comfortable. If they'd keep the buildings at around 50* you could leave the long underwear on and only take off the hat and coat. Might need to wear fingerless gloves to type though.

The thing I dislike the most about winter cycling is the cold temps.
Don't laugh. If you think about it, that's the entire problem - the cold temps.

In the summer it stays clean long enough that it seems like it might be worth it. In the winter it gets dirty so fast...I just don't bother...
Cleaning your bike can be the difference between *having* a bike come spring, or not. The extra grime, grit, and especially road salt are murder on drivetrain components and your frame won't like them very much either. Rinse it off, wipe it down, re-lube (don't forget the pivot points on your brakes; I have dealt with seven sets of seized brakes this month); your bike will love you and your bike mechanic won't hate you.
