How do you respond to blissfully negligent children? I just slow to a near stop until they notice me.
Some of them ran right in front of me last Halloween (but I avoided collision). I think I'm going to avoid all neighborhood routes this Halloween. I suppose I could try to make by bicycle noisier, but it would be easier to just avoid neighborhood routes.

Put one of these on your bike. (I have one but haven't installed it yet.) Clamp the lever to the handlebar if you want it to ring continuously.

Resident smartass.
I wouldn't know. I'm generally eating pizza and drinking beer or Smirnoff Ice Vodka on that particular evening while playing World of Warcraft. That said, I guess if I was out on my bike, I would be riding a lot slower, for obvious reasons and making ample use of my bell since kids don't look for lights on a bike.

To be honest, it is constructed very cheaply. I'll install it, but I don't have high hopes. I think it's a chreap copy of a formerly-well made product. I rubbed the wheel against a spinning wheel, and it isn't terribly loud. The previous product was said to be quite loud. This product is also stupidly heavy.

And yet..
excellent reviews:
https://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/pr...=1350961391081
If you've never seen or been on one of these CCM bikes, its a seriously bad bike - a 30lb aluminum "road bike" that basically arrives broken from the factory.
Not even the entry level Shimano for close to $400 too!
I don't always trust online reviews.

I'm thinking about mounting a bayonet on the front of my recumbent and really scaring them! <insert evil laugh>
Nah, I won't even be riding to work that day, since I'll be in costume.

If you had one good light, you wouldn't need the rest.

Your devious, making the little kids think you are an ice cream truck and run to you just before you run them over.
