Only 74 votes for NOTA so far. Not even close to Roseanne Barr, even. So dissappointing.

I was not the only one to ride to the voting place on a road bike with cycling clothing on.

You summed up my thought process. I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
And to all of the Orion chime in's, I agree that that is alot of bang for the buck, and would be much different than any of the aluminum steeds. If it was in the 2 yr old Flandrian, I would be on it like a monkey on a cupcake.

I have both a Ti and an aluminum road bike. The Ti is 7 yrs old and the aluminum is 22 yrs old (w/ modern parts). I considered my aluminum bike my rain bike, but I think I've been caught in the rain so many more times when riding the Ti, that the distinction is laughable. My "real" rain bike will be whenever I get a hold of a CX Disc.

Yep, there is no doubt poodles are very intelligent. I knew they ranked fairly high, but I wasn't going to waste my time looking for the data to support it. Glad you figured it out. Back to my initial statement. We are effed!

My rain bike is the bike I'm riding when it starts raining.

But how many other bikes do you have? And what constitutes a "rain" bike for you?
I have both a Ti and an aluminum road bike. The Ti is 7 yrs old and the aluminum is 22 yrs old (w/ modern parts). I considered my aluminum bike my rain bike, but I think I've been caught in the rain so many more times when riding the Ti, that the distinction is laughable. My "real" rain bike will be whenever I get a hold of a CX Disc.

I have a steel single speed and a flat bat 1x9 that see the rain all of the time. So effectively I have rain bikes.
My only legitimate (quasi-) bike need is a long distance credit card tourer, with ideally rear rack points. I have been window shopping steel, but when I see prices and values like the Ridley's at CC, I abandon the plan. It doesn't help that I was pining for a Ridley Excalibur in Flandrien before I got the Cinelli, so they feel like the ones that got away.
