Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is this normal on brand new cycling shoes?

Just got these in the mail on monday, noticed some glue on the side of the shoe where the carbon meets the shoe...almost something in the vents...

I would complain, the point of vents is clearly contradicted with the glue being there. What kind of shoes? Did you try to clean it out? if its shoe glue it will be a pain.

I didn't try to clean anything out. The shoes are Diadora Jet racers.

I don't think it's a big deal. As gc3 pointed out, there are quite a bit of vents.

Probably not a big deal, but maybe if you raise a stink you'll get replacements... Might have helped to buy them at an LBS (sorry I had to)

I don't care about the ventilation issue just don't want them coming apart

I'm not so rich to buy these full price haha I have to pay for school. CRC just ran out of my size so I have no idea what they would do

LOL, the reason they had glue all over the place was because the person who assembled the shoe was swimming in and sniffing all that glue, to the extent he/she just slapped more than enough glue on the shoe.

No worries about them coming apart, I'll say!

Ah alright it isn't the end of the world, maybe CRC will give me the 2013 model for the same price but I doubt it. I really like this color, I suppose it's part of the handmade process...forgot what the correct term is at the moment xD.
