Who says a root canal can't be fun? Well, today I visited Dr Pane at the Medical Center, and after I settled accounts with the nurse there, I stepped out into the hallway, and just take a gander at what was waiting for me!
There was no lock on it, and no one was around, so I knew it was abandoned. I wanted to get out of there with it quickly though, half expecting some dirty flipper to step out into the hall and give some cock and bull story that it was his, and that he had just left it there for a moment.
HAHA yeah, right!
I just threw a leg over it and off I went, down the hallway.![Stick Out Tongue](images/smilies/tongue.gif)
- OK, OK... I know what you're thinking: It's just a low-end Raleigh.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
- So maybe no one else is excited about it except me, but it's in practically mint condition with really nice 700c wheels and derailleurs, and all alloy components. Heck! Even the rubber looks brand new!![Smilie](images/smilies/smile.gif)

So today I rode my bike to the dentist office so I could get my annual cleaning, X-Rays and checkup. I usually lock it up outside, but seeing as it was lightly snowing, the receptionist told me to park it inside and she would keep an eye on it for me.
After I was done with my visit, I went to get my bike and it was gone. I asked at the counter for Sarah the receptionist, and I was told she went home early.
Seeing as I had no bus fare, I had to walk 15 miles back home in a snowstorm.
I am so mad at Sarah that I could just scream!

Banned.
I'm allergic to local and general.
Therefore, the doc had to be fast.
No bike, no fun.
No fooling.
I'm just a lucky guy.

First dibs on the crankset, you can dispose of that "hot" frame.
April 1 and that means tax filing due in two weeks.

The angle of the seat makes my teeth hurt.
Is that your bike? I've got an older Record that rides pretty nice. I've got some nice wheels and equipment I'm gonna put on it just to see how it rides.

You might not believe this, but my uncle in Sacramento owned a bike store back in the '80's. He was something of a hoarder, though. Anyway, he passed away recently and left me an entire roomful of high end bikes and parts in his will! Cool, huh?
There's gotta be some Campy stuff in there somewhere!
Ha, I see someone else already posted a fantastic discovery story.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Yes, it's my '73 Record. It does ride pretty well. Good wheels and tires REALLY make a big difference. I've trimmed some weight off it as well. (Aside from the frame, only the Nervar crank is original.)

I don't think your uncle would agree. ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Just the hubs are Campy Record... (I always found it curios why Campagnolo made so many hubs for this one model of bike.

PS- Kim Jong Un should get himself an old 10-speed, join the forum here, and just chill. Riding it would help him shed some of that blubber as well!

Tough to fool this crowd, especially since it was Auchencrow doin' the foolin'. We've all come to expect the very highest of standards and ethics from Da "Crow, and here he lets slip that he's a common bike thief.
