Your 91 would be a hybrid bike. And a nice one at that. Cromoly frame and fork and equipped with nice components.
Kinda looks like a mountain bike with the more upright riding position, but with skinnier tires of a road bike. About 10 years before your bike was made, Trek made a series of 750 road bikes with drop handlebars, etc.
Here is a link to a spec page of your bike. Scroll down to the last 2 pages.

Bike Sorceress
Pretty awesome bikes, apparently a year or two in the early 90's the frames were identical to the 520. I've been on the lookout for one, but not a ton of luck. I did ride a friends step-through 750 that he was trying to sell, but the thin tubing and non-mixte design made a super flexy ride.

The 90-92 where lugged True Temper AT tubes built at the Waterloo, WI plant. Same geo as the 520 with a few small differences with braze ons. I have a '90 that I've built up a couple of different ways. Really decent riding frame.

Steel is real, baby!
The holes on the front fork are for a front rack, if you ever decide to put one on. I added one to my 790, but don't have a pic of it yet.

Here is an old version of my 790:

I'll get an updated pic of it posted maybe tomorrow. I have changed a few things on it.
