Selling Cycling Jerseys
I have some cycling jerseys that I will never, realistically, fit into again and I want to sell them.
I'm not trying to get a sale/classified thread going here, just wondering if you folks ever buy used jerseys. I tried them on craigslist for a while, but didn't get any real bites. Wondering if they're worth putting in the classifieds here.
They're all pro team, Santini or Nike, and have been well taken care of and washed in cold and hung to dry.
So, anybody ever buy used jerseys? Curious about reasonable pricing, too.
Thanks.

Give them away to newbie cyclists who will appreciate them.

most the time, they dont go for much. I have sold several used jerseys, you just have to price them right. Last jersey I sold retailed for $89. I wore it ONCE and sold it for $25. I use slowtwitch.com to do all my cycling selling.
I would wear a used kit. maybe not everyone here has a washing machine? (I'm kidding, I understand why people wouldn't want to)

I just have to LOL at people freaking-out over wearing clothes that have been
washed in Woolite and hung to dry.
Like there are going to be germs there, but no germs if you buy them "new" from
the manufacturer or retailer?
Seriously.

Some people have higher standards than others, nothing wrong with that.
Some people have lower standards than others.
You meet all kinds on this forum.

I've bought almost all my jerseys used at garage sales, and have never spent more than $3 on one. I wash them in hot water -- no problem.

I have one or two used jersey's I got off ebay, I just wash them when they arrive. I also wash brand new stuff before I wear it. Who knows how many people try on new stuff, even those "new" shorts. unless you really need the extra cash either sell them cheap or pay it forward.

I'm currently looking for used Rapha gear right now. Rapha stuff holds up fairly well as long as it is taken care of (I wouldn't buy something that had stuff falling apart anyway). I have no problem washing and wearing a pair of bib shorts, jersey, socks, jacket etc. I Keep in mind We are talking about stuff in good to great shape. Not a set that has skidmarks stained into the chamois.

I recently bought three kits on ebay from a guy in England. Quality stuff made in Italy. Two of them were used, one new without tags. Most I've spent on a kit was about $60 incl shipping. Everything has been super clean. I got a used FDJ kit that's mostly white and it arrived in pristine condition. I'd rather pick up clean used gear for $60 rather than pay $150 or more for the same things.

I gave some away. Not because I gained or lost weight, but because I just did not use them any more. Once I had a few jerseys that were my definite favorites in terms of both looks and comfort, I found that all of my older jerseys just went unused. When a friend got into cycling, I just gave him my old ones.

I'd buy some, I need some for after work rides and don't like dropping money for a nice once when it's jut a beat around jersey.

I sold a bunch of old jerseys on Craigslist. The key is to sell them cheap. I think I asked for $5 a piece. IIRC, I was selling five jerseys at $5 each or $20 for all five, or something like that.
Bibs or shorts I won't sell. That just seems gross to me - like buying used underwear.

I was going to post something saying that you're not going to get germs from a used jersey, so if you think it's gross, it's just psychological -- get over it.
But then I realized that the same argument could be made about used shorts (or underwear), and I think that's gross.
