Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Broken Rear Derailleur-Help Please!

Does anyone know where I can buy this part without buying the whole rear derailleur? Or should I just go ahead and buy a whole new derailleur? If I have to buy the whole thing, where is the best place to purchase a rear derailleur?

By the way, I was just riding around, so I had my shirt off and it fell into the derailleur and snapped it right off.

Is there a name for the part or anything that I can search for on like Ebay?

Thank You.

It's not a derailer part. It's a derailer hanger and part of the frame.Check with the frame maker.

You broke your hanger and it is replaceable. The link above will get you what you want.

Wow... that looks like a weak material...

I guess that's the price people pay for "lightweight"...

Reminds me of the saying I read here on the forums:

light, durable, inexpensive.

Choose any two.
