Are you still in love with the Hwy 1s on your Colnago?

They sure look sweet on the bicycle.

Love is a strong word, but I do like them. If deda sold a 215 with a compact drop, that would be love.

Me? Not so much.

As for the STIs, we won't hold that against you.

Fwiw I have 105s on a bike and they work great. Tough as nails.
From one extreme to the other! Can't I just be a normal dude?

New member, updated bike. Rides like a dream. No biggie.
He may have felt it was more appropriate here than in the Classic Rigs thread.

Nice bike, welcome to the forum.

Beauty! Stellar job with the build, first post too-- way to come out of the gate strong.

A steel Colnago (chromed no less!) that manages to land on the better end of the 'all-business' <--> 'garrish flamboyance' spectrum, impressive.

Very nice Merckx and an echo welcome to the forum.
That's a Century, right? Not the original fork, as I recall they came with a flat crown fork. But nice, and the original Cobalto color with a white panel.
I have a Century being painted in that color by Al Wanta right now and am looking forward to riding it!

Correct on the fork and Century. The original is a flat crown, Cobalto with crome dropouts. I have it but put it on the shelf, in favor of the carbon which has a little less rake and is a little stiffer. Suits the sort of riding I do a little better. Less rake especially.

I finished this build up yesterday morning just in time for a windy ride in the Texas Hill Country. The frame is a 1981 Eddy Merckx Professional (based on serial number) with the cable guides on top of the bottom bracket. The group is Campagnolo Chorus 10 Speed with Racing T triple crankset and Monoplanar Chorus brakes.

Welcome. That is a very nice looking bike. Please post additional pictures in the classic rigs and rides thread (see link below). This thread is for similar road bikes converted to use STI or Campy Ergo controls. We'd like to see more over in the other thread. Again, welcome to the forum.
