As you have been in the gym before remember this, with a focus on heavy compound movements (squats, deadlifts, etc) your upper body is getting a could workout as well. Also make sure your goals in the weight room are defined as in what are you hoping to accomplish? Better climbing, better sst efforts, etc. - have a goal.

Sorry to belabor the point but one more question. I know Joe Friel is a proponent of supplemental weight training but for squats he recommends trying to use a stance which mimics the position of your feet on the pedals (eg very narrow / toes pointed straight ahead). I understand his rational but obviously this is not the normally recommend position for squats that typically would involve a wider stance and toes pointed outwards. Do you follow Friel's advice?
I use a variety of stances when it comes to squats. I wrote a little on it in Brian's thread.

Cav runs a pretty small frame ~51.
When you ultimately look at it (IMHO) a sprinters bike is designed for that last few hundred meters. When it is a little more compact it allows you to be right over the crank in delivering power. A climbers pedal stroke being that it is at lower rpm (80 vs. 120) is more of an out and down stroke versus a more vertical stroke (sprint). A compact setup also allows you to be up and off the saddle to sprint and back down without a lot of movement to go back onto the seat.

Edit: The brick wall is at the bike shop. This picture was taken right after I purchased the bike and got fitted. They put the mount on the wall for the sole purpose of photographing some of their builds.

Sweet Evo.
...now what's the story with the mount on the brick wall?

nice Evo. I'd also like to know the story behind having a bike rack on a brick wall which I highly doubt is where you store your bike when not in use.
