Front Brake Lever/Caliper Recommendations (fixed gear)
Just wondering for those who has a front brake
what lever do you guys recommend as well as a caliper
i was thinking about getting a e-lever from Paul Components because it looks pretty clean, but i'm not sure whether it has good reviews or not, and if it's very effective

Haven't heard many good things about the E-lever other than it looks cool. I use a Tektro caliper with TRP hoods. If you want something on the tops, any cross lever will do the job.

Agree with above, get a cheap Shimano dual-pivot caliper (ex. Sora) and either Tektro hoods if you have drop bars or cross levers if you have bullhorns/flats/risers. I would suggest going to your LBS and getting take-offs if they are available, you could keep this under $20 for perfectly good parts.

I like my Día Compe BRS caliper .... It's currently paired to a Cane Creek cross top lever. If you have bullhorns I think I would suggest Time Trial levers over cross levers, seems to have better brake pull and modulation in my opinion.

I have a Cane Creek lever but its no different than a Tektro, I have used a number of different brakes Tektro, Cane Creek, Shimano Sora and finally Sram Rival that I got for $20 it just needed pads. It feels markedly different than a cheaper brake for looking so similar.

I use a NOS Campagnolo caliper and lever. Looks clean and works fine.

I'm not a fan of Braking with a top mount interruptor levers, alone,
due to the potential of breaking off the cable end.
they are bending the cable, the end of which will fatigue where the Zn ends were fused on.
brake levers made to go on the cable ends always pull straight ,
or at least let a barrel end freely rotate to pull straight.
get that HMO insurance policy in effect.

that tetro looks nice, how's the quality on them? do they work as well as they look? i might go for these

i got the cross lever in 31.8 and had it polished. again not cheap but super nice
