Stronglight 49D and VO crank bolt set

I have a Stronglight 49D that is missing a couple of the crank to ring bolts. So I ordered the VO 5-pin crank bolt set.

However the "female" end of the VO bolts is longer than the originals, enough that I can't even tighten the bolts because the female end bottoms out in the crank arm.

Is there something that I'm overlooking, or should I just buy TA bolts instead?

I used the VO set of chainring bolts on a Nervar crankset and didn't run into this issue. I don't remember using washers, but if you look at the second pictures it looks as if I did. I'll try to do a visual inspection later this morning and let you know what I see. I can't recall if VO sent the washers or I went to my local ACE and bought them.

I would contact VO, tell them of your problem and see what they offer as a solution.

I'm using 49d arms and modern TA rings. On that set I think I employed the original Stronglight bolts and nuts. I know I have used the VO hardware with TA arms and it worked fine.

Wait. . . on another bike I'm using 49d arms and the VO hardware with a VO SS ring. It's a 3/32" ring, but maybe it's thicker by just enough?

I ran into the same problem with 49d cranks with new issue TA chainrings. I bought the VO set of bolts for the double. I ended up keeping the stronlight nuts/bolts for the crank to chainring and used the VO spacers and nuts/bolts for the attaching the inner chainring.
