I didn't have any luck when a school bus driver pulled out in front of me because I didn't have the exact location of the incident - having the time and bus number wasn't enough for them. I think getting a video and posting it to youtube before you call them is the only way you're going to get any response from the companies that don't sell consumer products and just don't care.
I posted the videos to YouTube in a way that you would have to have the link to view. I let the bus groups know this so they knew that I was giving them a chance to handle it without any other agenda on my part.
Companies with fleets want to control their risks and so are likely to respond when they have something that validates a claim. Without validation, I would think they would still talk to the driver but would then get tied up with the "two different versions" dilemma.
I don't have that many negative interactions with traffic. In the cases above, I reported the drivers because of behaviour that was more likely to affect the safety of their passengers.

Though I will not post my videos online, I still take great satisfaction in being able to report or "bag" certain motorists' deliberately poor driving decisions that seriously endanger my personal safety.

Meh. The very few times I've contacted a company about one of their employee's driving, I've gotten a pretty positive response. No idea what actions were really taken, but they seemed to take me seriously.
Whenever I've contacted the police -- also rarely -- I'm also batting 1.000. Just today, the very officer that we had a negative encounter with a couple of months ago gave us an escort and a wave on a narrow, congested road back into town.
People are very responsive if you write an polite, but direct, note to them.
Which reminds me: I have to write a thank you note to the police.

Wow, what a coincidence. I had exactly* the same encounter last week but since the truck's path was so easily predicable I just gave it room and there was no fuss whatsoever.
*Maybe it wasn't really a 25-ton truck. We were both on our way so quickly I didn't have time to pull out the scales and weigh it.

Depends on the company. I reported a driver to a local and quite large construction company a few years ago and got a call from the driver apologizing about an hour later and a letter from the CEO. One local school bus company seems to take things seriously while another doesn't seem to. USPS seems about the worst in my book.
