40 miles today! Hooray!

It's been probably been a couple of months since I've gone that distance. I've done ride distances in the mid 30s, but that was about 3 or more weeks ago. The last time I rode on the road was 10 days ago.

25.45 miles, absolutely beautiful day, 64°F, low humidity and a slight SSE wind, clear skies.

Did a comfortable (for a change) ride around town, 15 mi. Temps in the 40s I guess. I've been doing spin classes mostly of late (including today).

45 minutes on the trainer today. At least it was a cardio workout. I checked my pulse(fingers to neck) several times during the time and it was anywhere between 140~155.

Wish I didn't have a sub job today--it's supposed to be in the 60s.

59.7 @ 15.8 ave on the club ride on Saturday

101.2 @ 18.8 ave (ave rolling speed) in the Casa Grande Century on Sunday. Very likely my fastest century ever, even though it was a flat century.

44 miles this morning. Temps in the mid/upper 70's but the humidity made it feel as if I was riding in July. The winds increased as the temperature went higher and I really had to work for those last few miles.

Ten miles to work. In an hour it will be another ten miles to home. It's 57 now, so the trip home will be without overcoat or gloves for the first time in weeks.

Does an hour on the trainer count? Have to admit, the weight is beginning to creep up with the less than normal cycling. No more pie for a while I guess.

25.46 miles, 1H 35M 36S, nice cool day for a ride. Felt good today, this is my best time for the distance to date. Temps and slight wind helped me out.

I was finally able to ride after not riding for 2 weeks due to the flu, work and the weather. As I expected it was a pretty tough ride but managed 41+ solo miles at about 16 mph. My legs were fine but the cardio has a lot of catching up to do. In fact my legs were probably pushing harder than my cardio could handle so just had to use easier gears.

Thanks . I was riding with 5 others from my club (the paceline got to 10 at times with others who decided to join). The average is rolling time. We did ride it overall in 6:25, which would be about a 15.8 average. I need to see if I can add the overall average to my Garmin 500.

We still plan to look at property north of Tucson so hopefully I can join in one of those some day. The fastest century I've done was around 4 hr 30 mins with no stops. It was flat and we had a nice nudging wind. I was mostly just riding other people's wheels that day. I recall finishing the century before one of my buddies had finished the 60 miler using the same route that day. I can say that I probably don't have another 4hr 30 min century in me........

No ride yesterday but that was OK as I made it my no ride day for the week. Today's ride was a little chilly at first but it warmed up pretty quick and made the 35 mile ride very enjoyable.

Vacationed in Maui for 18 day, took my bike with me and rode 410 miles . Two of my high light rides are The ride up Haleakala 36 miles and 10000 ' to the top back down and back to Kihei 88 miles for the day. Another great ride was fro Kihei around the west Maui loop and back 75 miles and a lot of climbing. Maui is a great place to ride Sunshine, bike lanes, smooth roads and wind

Cold wind and rain today made for a tough ride. Having the right gear makes it all possible. 34 miles warmed me up pretty good.

Haven't posted in this thread in a while...I've moved since the last time I posted, and so now my commute is ~2 miles shorter (each way) than it used to be. My yearend pissing match total is gonna take an awful hit!

But I rode to work today. Think I had a tailwind, it felt really easy.

33 miles in cool, blustery conditions West of Gainesville, FL on my Giant Advanced Defy 0. It gets less flat west of I-75, making the rides a bit more interesting ( and less traffic, too).

Normally I see a lot more folks out, but not today. Most would have correctly identified me as a Yankee transplant.

Anyway that makes almost 150 miles since Saturday, strong rides, good finishes and in all not a bad run......
