More Money Than Sense? I want a Colnago C60....

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's definitely a nice status symbol. Doesn't even look very good, IMO.

I'm surprised this thread made it to the second page without generating even more vitriolic comments like only a fool would spend more than $1500 on a road bike unless they were racing. You did manage to start to sprinkle in how ugly Colnagos are, though. I'm very proud of y'all.

Please don't buy such an expensive bike. Think of the starving children in africa.

C59 looks way better, and all Italian bikes must use Campagnolo or the bicycle will burn in Velohell.

Yet I own a Colnago Extreme Power with Super Record and ride that for pleasure. I race on a Ribble Audax/Winter bike with Athena.

Don't race what you can't replace...

I have had not a single bike even remotely call me in the aesthetics department for at least 2-3 years. I always said if I get a new bike it will be either a C59 or a Parlee with the same components and wheels. This C60 has certainly changed that!!!

So many reasons why this is not a good idea...

I want one...this Italia in white...although maybe it might get Campy if I'm going to be wasting that much money anyhow...

If you want it for the look, the name, and the italian heritage go for it.

But as you yourself point out, there's no objective performance reason to buy that bike.

There are easily 10 high end frames that are cheaper, lighter, stiffer, than the Colnago, and ride as well ( and at least one also has Italian heritage)

The C60's an improvement over the C59, but it's still a pig by modern standards, and clings to outdated construction methods.

The guys who have $300K Watches have more money than sense, I mean a freakin house on your wrist?? Or several for dozens of people.......but whatevs

If it's actually made in Italy then it's a bit justified, but the guy who says it's not the best at anything is on to something, I'd at least want it to be the best in one category.
