I'm in... I will get 150+ this month.

5-3: 25.7
5-8: 4.5 - got dropped on a "no drop" ride, then slung my chain doing 25mph+ trying to catch up...
5-10: 3.7 - flat. On the bright side, I had a nice 2.3mi run to get home.
5-10: Purchased 2 tubes, repair kit, bike pump... lol!
5-17: 12.0 - immediately preceded by a .25mi swim and followed by a 3.1mi disaster... err... run.
MTD: 45.9/150+

TDC in 2 weeks. Longer rides are in the works

Added 16 miles to the monthly tally taking it up to 343 miles for the month.

The 16 miles are from a mtn bike race today. It was a brutal course and I hit the ground once when my front wheel washed out. A little sore this afternoon. Finished 9th out of 22.

A neighbor talked me into a 24 hour relay mtn bike race next month as part of a 5 man team. Couple of the members of the team have never raced before. Not so sure that was a wise decision on my part to be part of the team.

Been off the bike for a while, had some sort of infection and ended up with conjunctivitis in both eyes. Not a pleasant experience. Yesterday I took the bike out for the first time in 10 days, for another 200k brevet. The weather was sunny all day - too hot in fact, and the relentless headwinds sapped strength terrifyingly fast. It was one of those days where it seemed whichever way we were facing we had a headwind. At 160km I just wanted to pack in the ride but the only way to cover the last 42km was on the bike. I had time in hand so took a break, found some food, and then figured I'd get back to the start using whatever means it took. Which meant walking some of the long climbs, and freewheeling for as much of it as I could. The important thing, I got to the finish within time.

05 May - 27 miles
07 May - 129 miles
18 May - 126 miles

MTD - 284 miles.

May 1 -- 6 miles, 614' -- farming goats heads on the mountain bike. SO MANY HOLES IN THE TUBES.
May 3 -- 31 miles, 2,221' -- to the bike shop for more (airlock) tubes. Sick of the goats heads
May 4 -- 51.6 miles, 2,648'

And now, the Strava climbing challenge kicks in. Out of town all week for work, so 3 days instead of 5.

May 9th -- 31.1 miles, 3,501' -- how many little climbs can I make
May 10th -- 40.1 miles, 3,494' -- out with the girl and then some hill ('neighbourhood') repeats
May 11th -- 33.6 miles, 3,711'

This officially makes it my climbingest week ever, which is sad given I only rode 3 days, and almost the most feet/mile I've ever done.

Work travel interference cut in, and will continue to do so:

May 15th -- 9.4 miles, 1,060'. Quick loop around the block
May 17th -- 4.9 miles, 495'. Bike and leg function check
May 18th -- 102.5 miles, 6,132'. Santa Fe Century (and my first century) for the girl's birthday

310/400 miles (might not make the target with travel)
23,891/20,000'

20.5 hours at 15.1mph

193/400 miles
16,204/20,000'

14.3mph AS; down a chunk, but there's good reasons.

5/01: 3.68 mi (flat tire; had to carry bike half a mile to someplace safe to chain it, then did 1 mile walk/run home lol )
5/05: 4.16 mi
5/07: 1.5 mi walk/run

5/12: 1.5 mi walk/run
5/13: 3.1 mi

5:18: 1.5 mi walk/run

Total: 30.78 mi bike; 7 miles walk/run

Wishing I was able to get more miles on the bike this month, but between bad weather and needing to take days off (overtrained I think), I haven't had the time to.
