18.8 today on a ride cut short due to a knee not feeling good. I did however PR on three different segments for a nasty climb I like to do.

Had really hoped to ride a 400k brevet yesterday but with bike fit questions still outstanding it seemed like a Seriously Bad Idea. After last week's 200 every part of me in contact with the bike was sore, which I know isn't supposed to happen. After adjustments made during the week it feels better, and getting in the drops is far more comfortable.
Today I had a gentle ride with a friend. He recently got a bike and took it out for its maiden voyage. Nothing special, just a couple of laps of the local park.
05 May - 27 miles
07 May - 129 miles
18 May - 126 miles
23 May - 27 miles
25 May - 20 miles
MTD - 331 miles.

Rode the the Plymouth levee to Kirby Park and back. I am behind, but virtually all week was plagued by afternoon thunder storms. I will be riding 25 miles on Memorial Day, but I have to have a great week. I will consider doing some rides in the morning if I need to.

My crazy neighbors talked me onto a 24 hour five-man relay team mountain bike race next month. The race course is a loop near the house so went out on Sunday to ride it. Nine miles and 1,150 feet of climbing. Course has a couple of rocky descents, which should be fun in the dark at 2 a.m. I know exactly what's going to happen next month at this race. I'll end up doing a big chunk of the racing and the other guys, none of whom have ever raced, will be back at the start/finish in the 5th wheel drinking beer!
After I finished the loop headed down to the river to a place called Rocky Island bar. It's named after the concrete and rock diversion structure where the local water district pulls water out of the river. The paved road up the hill is a great place for hill repeats.
Mileage for the month is up to 454.

Pathetic for the month. Lots of rain and cold. Funny how 2 months ago, 40° felt like swimming weather and now 40° I don't want to be out in.
Friday was the ride with my wife, short and pretty much 0 effort. Nice ride on Saturday, another short 0 effort on Sunday because my daughter wanted to go. Nice ride behind the house this morning. At least it was a 4 day weekend and I was able to get on the bike 4 times. Only 5 more days for the month. At least I should break 100. Would rather see 200 for the month.

Rode the Lehigh Gorge from White Haven to Jim Thorpe, an absolutely perfect day for a ride. I assisted on the trail by inflating a flat tire on one of the bikes a couple had rented for the day. They were 5 miles from the nearest trail head. They were amazed at my magical CO2 cartridge.

Well, I broke 100 for the month. Rode a hard packed cinder trail that is a pretty steady 2% grade (I think.) Rode down the grade 10 miles then had to climb back the 2% 10 miles. I wish it was reversed. I'd rather start going up and finish with the downhill. Its a lot of fun flying down a shallow descent like that for a long distance. Had a bit of problems with the tiny little stones flying up off the front wheel into the face though. First I though, man, theres a lot of bugs, before I realized it was the tiny stones from the trail.

I'm in... I might get 100+ this month...
5-3: 25.7
5-8: 4.5 - got dropped on a "no drop" ride, then slung my chain doing 25mph+ trying to catch up...
5-10: 3.7 - flat. On the bright side, I had a nice 2.3mi run to get home.
5-10: Purchased 2 tubes, repair kit, bike pump... lol!
5-17: 12.0 - immediately preceded by a .25mi swim and followed by a 3.1mi disaster... err... run.
5-24: 3.4 - yet another flat, and I left my tire removal tools at home *facepalm*
5-25: 18.4 - first time on Shelby Farms Greenway, nice!

62 to go. Dang I'm close. I fly out of town tomorrow immediately after work, with little prospect for riding Saturday. I suppose if I go ride 35 right now, then 15 before work, then 12 at lunch I could get there. Crap, I have a lunch meeting. Nope, not gonna get there. Guess I'll go have a beer.
