Help identifying mid-90s Performance Ti frame?

Hi all, just snagged this frame at a good price. The owner didn't know too much about when it was made, and who made it, but it's a Performance-branded Ti frame with really nice welds, he thinks from the 90s. If the stickers don't lie, it's titanium, 3/2.5. Anyone know anything about it? The model number looks to be TR1000, but I can confirm that in a bit...!

Good catch. I have one and they are very solid, stiff Ti frames. Given the time period, probably built by one of the Tennessee Ti fabricators. Here's mine -- the Mad Max SS.

Performance actually sent me pdf's of the catalog pages when I emailed them. Email me and I'll send those to you.

Nice bike! I was planning on taking of the decals, and you have just confirmed by urge. Is the frame fairly light? Looks like you have it built up as a singlespeed, cool! This will be my commuting/light touring bike. I emailed you about the catalog pages.

Not to answer for RFC but, careful selection of the gears will suffice Sheldon has some nice words about building up single speeds in absence of horizontal dropouts.

Correct. If you want to avoid a singleator, you need to find the magic gear combinations that just fits. For example, this bike is geared 52x19.

In case anyone is curious or finds this thread in regards to another one of these frames, here's my built up version of it. I also took the decals off. It has DA shifters and RD and the rest is ultegra, with mavic open pro wheels. Cost me ~$450 to build up, nice! Rides super sweet, not like my old Merlin but great. I'll be using it as my main commuter, got a rack on it and all.
