I am not sure why but this model by TREK was very short lived as i dont think it lasted sereral years, I guess not much demand for a Belt driven single speed carbon bike..

I'm finally back on a proper road bike after selling my Giant SCR a couple of years ago.
Picked up a bargain ex-demo GT GTR, spent the saving on a set of Zondas. Just need to get a nicer crank and I'm done.

I like it...
2014 Madone 2.1 - just bought two weeks ago. I also looked at the brand new Trek Emonda S4 (the entry level) but couldn't justify spending $1700 and getting Tiagra components and an alloy tube. Don't get me wrong, Tiagra are good components for entry level, but this bike was over $400 less, has 105 and weighs only one pound more.

Yeah, I think those decals are/were a bit much...even if the wheels are great.

Nope, that's it. No joke, just tacky. Too much logos by a far piece IMO. But then you're going so fast that nobody will notice.

My 2014 Giant Defy Advanced SL 1.
Managed to get my hands on the last one of these in Canada recently, and it's been a joy to ride.
Back wheel is a custom 36h DT Swiss TK 540 lased with Wheelsmith DB14 spokes to an Ultegra hub. This wheel was chosen to maximize lateral stiffness and durability as I'm a clyde.
Rear derailleur switched to the Ultegra RD-6800-GS long-cage to allow the Ultegra 11-32t cassette to be used (again, clyde).
Stock front wheel left on because I've never had an issue with front wheels, so why spend money and add weight with a front wheel unnecessarily (though the mismatched tires bug the hell out of me).
Specialized Avatar Expert saddle is a recent purchase. My sit bones are still getting used to it, but it solved an inner thigh chaffing issue I was developing on my Specialized Milano Sport.
Planned in the near future for this bike is a swap to carbon stem and bars, primarily for the vibration damping rather than weight savings (again, clyde).
My previous bike was a 2012 Defy Composite 1 with a poorly built 36h Mavic Open Pro...the difference in lateral stiffness between this bike and rear wheel and my old one is quite simply..staggering.
Oh, and I love the matte black/red/white colour scheme. Only way I would like it better is if the glossy part had also been matte...

I had this posted over in the Hot or Not thread, but since I finally qualify to post it over here, as well....Really been enjoying this bike. Taking it on it's first century ride this weekend around the Santa Barbara/Ventura area.
