Before I left my previous job, I'd wake up in a panic at least three times a week. Did so and so finish this report, did we clear this or that site for drilling next week, are budget projections on track, etc. So much stress so much worry. After leaving, the sleep has been amazing. 8 hours straight, no panic, no worry.

I don't know how you guys are so pro without sleeping. I sleep less than 7 hours and I feel like there has been zero recovery from the prior days workout, which affects my next day as well.
Last few weeks I've been taking ice baths about an hour before bedtime and it works wonders. I read somewhere that if you train in the evening, an ice bath helps your body cool down and relax from the workout. It sure seems to work.

I very rarely wish ill on others, and even when guys or girls cheat there is usually a reason which isn't justifiable but understandable. I draw the line though at physical abuse and child neglect. If he was found in a dumpster I doubt there would be any tears, even from his family.
Best wishes to the aggrieved party.

Commuting in this morning a car pulled out from a right-side stopsign a little close to me, but MUCH too close to the car ahead on my left.
Car on my left took the rear trunk/bumper off the car that pulled out and swerved off the road to the right about 30m ahead of me, as I was grabbing brake as it all unfolded.
So loud! So much gunpowder smell from the airbags. So awake this morning too!
edit: break brake

Doc should know whats up, always hard to internet diagnose leg pain. Going to see a PT that specializes in sports will be helpful too if he gives you the option. You likely have some weak muscles in the hips causing problems. Possibly is an IT band issue, which is what I have right now. It runs down the side of the leg from the hip to below the knee. But it relys heavily on the glute and tfl which may be causing your inner thigh region pain.
I have a slight impingment of the hip. Basically, the ball of the femur has a little bit of extra bone and it interferes with movement in the hip socket. "A deformity of the ball at the top of the femur (called cam impingement). If the head is not shaped normally, the abnormal part of the head can jam in the socket when the hip is bent. This may occur during activities such as riding a bicycle or tying your shoes."
From what im seeing online it is typically found in active people because couch potatos arent going to be moving their hips in a way that will bring any pain/symptoms.
4-6 weeks of physical therapy and a 5 day course of an anti inflammatory with a steroid. I'm not sure if/how the pt will help, but we will see.

So the tab on my Edge 510 broke off. I sent it off to Garmin not expecting it back anytime soon but it shipped out 3 hours after they received it

So to complete my short post. I did race without gloves. I even did a training ride without gloves (I rode from dropping the car off at the dealer). I fully expected the race to be canceled since it was spitting on me at 9:40 AM and it was only supposed to get worse. Therefore I jumped with three trucks, did some big efforts, and called it a day. Of course then the race not only happened but went its full length, then the A race went its full length, and it didn't start raining until much later.
A 12? year old teammate of mine had a derailleur problem. It needed the 99% solution "tweak the derailleur mounting bolt up and out" bit done to it. I had to really massage it but I got it done. Then the limit screws, which had been fiddled with in rote hope of making things work, were just crazy out of whack. I had to adjust those, then test in the big ring, etc. I did most of the shake down rides without a helmet, in sneakers, street clothes. The dad finally made me wear his helmet after the official reprimanded me unofficially.
Jump in the sprint was not huge but it was good. I was absolutely on the limit in the middle of the race, about 10 minutes at my redline. Normally I try to help my teammates but the two strong ones in the race that night had upgraded to Cat 3, partially due to me, and both wanted to return the favor. Plus we were all 3s so for the 3s "not to race" would make us all not in contention. In the past the 3s generally tried to take it easy on the 4s and 5s but last night the 3s just pounded one another. When I jumped there was a perfect storm of wrong-side overlapped wheels, one guy who pulled off really hard (sweeping literally half the road clear), etc. Basically no one went when I went so I could start coasting/soft-pedaling about 50-75m from the line. I' going to check now because that might be an exaggeration. I'll see how many seconds I soft pedaled, I can measure that on the clip.
btw that whole thing about sprinters and genetics. The main reason I stopped sprinting is because I looked back to check my six and I thought no one was sprinting. Therefore I assumed that I must have jumped one lap early. I immediately stopped sprinting to try and save my legs for the actual sprint. Granted I wasn't in a full Cat 3 field but everyone behind/around me were 3s or strong 4s (and a strong Cat 1 or 2 woman, national champ on the track, not the one botto knows about). Jumps are jumps. When I really looked back I realized that, yes, they were sprinting, but I didn't really need to pedal hard to get to the line first so I soft pedaled to the line. My sprint was about 13 seconds long. It would have been a long sprint, like 20-22 seconds, so I was hoping not to get swarmed at the line when I jumped.
My data got weird, it downloaded in two segments. The first segment was 20:00 minutes long, 172w, 150bpm, max 1056w, so just one normal jump and some gap closing moves (630w, 685w, 667w, 758w, a bunch of 540-610w moves like six of them.
The second segment was 28:30, it has the sprint in it, and I did 168w, 160bpm, 84rpm. 1185w max, 964w@10s, 708w@20s. In the second segment I closed 4 gaps (peak 695w, 740w, 750w, 805w - that one was at 2 to go) plus had one jump other than the sprint (1105w). I hit 600w just following wheels on the last lap, before my jump. I broke 600w only three times that second segment, except for the gap closes, jump, and sprint.
So the short answer is I don't have the AP for the whole race but I have it for each segment.

I plan on doing the PT. The whole time this has been going on I haven't had any issues with range of motion, just the pain would set in after a few minutes of riding hard. Sometimes it would start up, and like 3 or 4 times I had no issues. Hopefully it was caught early enough that some strengthening and stretching and whatever else is done in PT can help.
