Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shallow rims just don't look right on the Venge.

Re. Blue Kestrel, personally not a fan of the blue tape and tires, but at least they are all the same shade of blue, so props for deliberateness.

Step back about 30ft and zoom in, then take the photo from waist/bar level. That will take care of the annoying perspective problem where the bars look like they're tilted up to 2 o'clock.

I like it. I like it a lot. I've seen blue stripe tires on the rack and thought they looked stupid, but here, they look brilliant!
You SHOULD be shredded for posing it with the top tube aligned with that white lintel.

My new cross bike, had such a hard time even finding this model available anywhere. Haven't put the pedals on yet, obviously.

Some orange is in the frame in case you're wondering why the saddle is orange. Besides....GO ILLINI!!!

Hot. Love the color - my next bike, whenever that comes, will have a bright primary color. This in a SS would be an ideal N+1 for me.

Thanks, I'm looking at bottle cages for it now and I think I'm settling on these in matte black carbon. The "x" theme seems to go well with the cx bike I think.

Or something a little more minimal like this...

Hot. Orange bar tape and it would be double mega hot.

Nice bike.

If it matches, I've got no problem with it. The problem is that, 99 times out of 100, they're off a shade or four, which looks bad. If you can't match, don't try.

Of course dead on looks better than off a shade, but both ways make you appear to be a try-hard.

Black tape only unless you have your own team of mechanics to keep white fresh and clean.

Sorry but orange would beat white bar tape, especially on a cross bike! If it's going to get muddy, and as it's a cross I think that's a safe assumption, that tape will be white for 1/2 ride? But again, I'd vote black bar tape most every time and leave the accents elsewhere. Hot bike, btw!
justin1138 - I don't know, red? Black? Neon blue? Ok, jk on that last one but any color but white? Maybe I can't see the white in your frame, but it seems an odd choice with so much mud and no apparent reason for that accent color? Whatever floats your boat, just my .02

did part of my sentence recommend white bar tape? Where did you see me make this recommendation. I mean honestly, where? I'd love to read what you are reading.

Hims got his feewings hurted....

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the white that is on it now. He agreed that he'd go black most every time, but orange would be better than what he has now.
