I read that article about oval chain rings and I really didn't need to see that data and analysis. My brain locks up when I start to think about how many dollars the conversion would cost me. Heck, I've been broken for so long, why try to fix it?

My teammate is USA cycling's Picture of the Month winner. Not sure if it's ok to post the link. If I made a party foul, then feel free to close it, and send me to bed without dinner.

Just installed an oval 32T chainring from Absolute Black on the MTB. It seems like it really helps on the flats and steady climbs, but feel like it throws off my timing on the techy stuff.

I think I like it............... maybe a lot.

Food poisoning last night. Ugly.

Was standing in the kitchen this morning talking to Mrs. Ex and watched a coyote with a jack rabbit in it's mouth saunter across the back lawn.

Good looking coyote.

Hmmmmm.

Are you implying that you want to eat the coyote?

Where's the place for the old folks to complain about their health? My grandmother used to schedule time with her cronies specifically to swap stories about their health woes. She called it their "organ recital."

Anyway, I have scoliosis and herniated discs, so my PT prescribed a standing desk, which has really helped my back a lot. But about a week ago I started noticing some really strange topology on my legs. Now I have edema from standing all day! I bought some old lady translucent white support stockings at the drug store and they make my legs feel great. But they are not doing wonders for my romantic life.

Try compression tights or leggings under your jeans or khakis. Seriously. And take a walk every hour or so.

Everybody knows about my health issues so I'd just be b*tching for the sake of it.

Reflecting on 2014 I'd like to thank many here for the wisdom and encouragement that was given to me. The collective knowledge that is on this forum amazes me and the amount of help that is given without asking anything in return shows what a great bunch all ya'll are.

2014 was a good year for me on the bike. Now if I can get the golf game on track in 2015.

For those traveling over the holidays may your travels be safe.

Wishing all, the peace, hope and love that is the heart of the holiday season upon us.

Cheers

Renewed my USAC license and selected my new team. My racing age showed up as a double 6. OMG, it does not seem possible. I remember the double nickel that feels like yesterday. Time is flying by except when on the trainer knocking out 1 minute as hard as I can go efforts. Then time pauses and laughs in my face.

I plan on racing the Mount San Bruno hill climb on January 1 which is the first USAC race of the season. My wife informed last night that there is a 65+ category and that I could compete against our newly minted hour record holder that just turned 75. Great. This sport just keeps getting better.

My recently deceased cousin was on a number of episodes on Hawaii 5-0. Once he played a dead body floating in a swimming pool.

I am stressing about my license showing 58 as my racing age. Getting way too close to 60. Same club, new race team sponsor for 2015 so almost no pink on the new kit (just the LV logo).

Cleave. I'm much older. It stresses me not!

I've been watching the 2014 UCI Women's World Cup on YouTube. Great, great racing. Loving the tactics! Lots of attacks, lots of break attempts (that don't stick), and lots of "leave it out there" riding. Those women are super smooth, so strong. I wish, I wish! Still, it's so much fun to watch, and it's a learning experience, too.
