I left out a couple. Orange '90 Serotta/Fuquay custom CX frameset. This was Greg Fuquay's personal CX bike, he built for Serotta in the late '80s-early '90s:

RED! RED! Some like it black, I like it ORANG!
My first European 10 speed was a brand new orange 1972 Gitane Gran Sport just like this one...
I had this Gus Betat built for me in 1975. It was Moltini orange - B&W photo, use your imagination.
My all original (except for the Brooks Pro) 1971 Gitane Tour de France.
This 1973 Gitane Super Corsa frame was gold. I had it repainted orange.
1973 Holdsworth Competizone in orange and blue team kit.
A real 1973 Holdsworth Team frame.
The most recent acquisition, an early 70s Crescent Pepita frame.

Bought this Raleigh Record 40+ years ago in college. Crank & seat post only original bits left. Spin on it to cool down between rowing machine sets.
Did my first century on it, countless camping trips, sat out side for weeks at a time out in the salt air at Horseneck Beach State Park, Westport, Ma. Commuted on it inside Rt 128 (Boston)

Shakin' it up a little - This is a 1978 basic coaster-brake Stingray - It was a winter project ten or twelve years ago.
KOOL ORANGE is not a 1978 color but this was my vision for this bike.
Started buying parts for it back in the mid 1990s when you could easily get NOS Stingray parts. The paint is base-coat clear-coat urethane. The water slide decals are buried in the clear. I painted the center band on the rear hub orange as well. The rear tire is a re-pop Schwinn Slik and the front is a NOS Westwind. Saddle and grips are NOS as well.
I have it set-up so that an adult can ride it. It's pretty fun actually.

I've been toying with the idea of painting it orange and came to this thread looking for validation.

They were also a wholesale distributor and imported a lot of interesting stuff including Viner frames. We did a lot of business with them at our shop in the mid 70s. They were building custom frames at that time too.
Here's a classic Gus Betat bike (not mine).
This is an ad from the mid 70s:
I think that your Trk would look grrrrreat in orange, Velocals makes classic Trek decals:

How did I miss this thread earlier? My big orange is a Ritchey Breakaway Cross, regrettably only produced in orange for one year. I am surprised that nobody has posted shots of an orange Rambouillet, unless I just missed it.
