My parents frequently had us play that game with classical music at dinnertime, with a "name the composer" contest. I did not fully appreciate the value of the contest until years later.

Your Breaking My Heart by Vic Damone. Now I know why my mom kept saying that to me while I was growing up. And all this time I thought I was a disappointment. You're Breaking My Heart by Vic Damone

It certainly made you smarter particularly if you were listening Mozart's music written by an angel accompanied by celestial harmonies!--so they say!

Perry Como singing "Some Enchanted Evening". Except that was here in the USA, and mom and I weren't.

Mine was rather foreboding. " Rags to Riches" by Tony Bennett. It was on the radio lots in the 60's.

Saw a live performance of South Pacific some years ago with a singer who closely approximated Giorgio. It was great.

This wasn't a music review thread. Como's version was at the top of the charts for about a month straddling my birth date, hence he gets the credit. As far as the original recording goes, it should be obvious by the title of the thread, that I wasn't around when South Pacific opened on Broadway. (though I did see a revival some decades later)
