Orphan Parts Spreadsheet

Everyone has at least one unmatched rim, pedal, crank arm, bottom bracket cup, brake lever, or hub in need of a mate. This spreadsheet has been around for a while, but never had it's own thread (as far as I could find). So here it is. Please add yours to the lists, and let the matchmaking commence.

Note that there are two sheets, one for stuff you have, one for stuff you want. I added a couple items to the "have" sheet yesterday, then blanched when I saw the updated spreadsheet today. Took me a moment before I realized there were two sheets and I was looking at the "want" sheet.

I agree, sticky would be nice.

From the link, I see only one sheet, it's in French language btw.

No idea if it's want or have list, or how to add something to either list.

So I checked the sheet, and happened to see that someone is ISO something that I have. I'm guessing I should contact that person here via IM and work out a transaction?

It's a Google Doc. It's wonky. When you add stuff, it take a while to show up.

Both sheets are there; the one you see first is the ISO sheet. The "have" sheet is a little harder to find; look at the tabs at the bottom.

Yes, I believe so. Which reminds me. I sent a PM to one person who didn't respond. Looking at his profile info, I see he was last on the forums in June 2014. Should we add a date column to both the have and ISO sheets so people reading have an idea how up-to-date or stale the need/offer is?

+1^^

This "app" seems like it could be really useful with perhaps a few such refinements, such as links to photos(?).

I could see a customized version of this sort of database being a great add-on to the A Great Vintage website.

Google's spreadsheets (and others) don't support links from part of a cell's contents. You can, I believe, make the entire cell's contents a link, however. I mentioned a couple crank arms in there. If I get a chance this weekend (and my sieve-like brain lets me remember), I'll take a couple pix and try to set up such a link.

I'll mention it to Tom. Of course, there is the possibility that something like that might eat into his paid ads. Still, it might increase traffic enough to make it worthwhile as well.

Anyone have a left Pista pedal, I have 2 Olympic right (drive sides) no end caps. I'm looking for a Pista left side, doesn't need to be Olympic, however would be nice.

If worst comes to worst, you can trim the quill off a road pedal and touch up the end with an anodizing pen (aka "black sharpie"). This was pretty common practice BITD to accommodate wide feet:

This might not be of interest only to a very few but would like to have a spoke exchange. Primarily vintage used but it could be any age, type and of course new.

I wouldn't mind seeing and making use of old galvanized type, butted types from Stella, Alpina, Union and especially Robergel.

Maybe add another sheet to the spreadsheet and lay it out in some fashion which makes it easier to track down specific combinations? Say, length on the rows, manufacturer on the columns, with the intersection containing other details such as gauge, buttedness, want/have, who has/wants, etc?

Hey, are you still looking for these? Because I have a pair of Olympic track pedals, NOS in box. Not using them, so they're yours for postage.

Let me know via PM.

I need a little help with the spreadsheet. I am seeing French language, and can't see how to change it.

Also, are the items listed what posters have, or are looking for? I get the impression it is parts wanted(?).

Note to sircaptaincook , the left vs. right on the cantilever brake arms depends on whether it is a front or rear installation!
A part number for model/vintage and silver/black color choice would seem to be needed as well.

Okey doke - I'll just keep 'em in my spares box. But if you ever do, hit me up - I think you're the only one I've ever seen on here that's been on the lookout for Olimpic pedals

.
There are two tabs in the workbook: 1 is ISO, 2 is Have to spare. Maybe not the best, but that's how I set it up.

Thanks for making this, I just looked and saw I was included with 4 items that are so dated that I have to check and see if I still have them! One of the 4 is definitely gone: donated to a Co-op...after I check I'm sure to have a few more!

Bumping this to bring attention to it, and update my needs. I am currently ISO:
> Campy NR/SR Strada 172.5 no-date drive side arm
> Avocet Strada 170 NDS arm
> Sugino Mighty Tour 170 NDS arm

I have a bunch of orphan arms and things to trade on the spreadsheet. Take a look, and add your orphan stuff.
