Same reason I don't leave on the license plate frame from car dealers. I don't like providing free advertising.

I leave 'em on "forever". In my experience they're small and unobtrusive, i.e. you'd have to look sharp to even notice them, so they're not really detracting from the look of the bike IMO.
So the folks who are removing the decals from their bikes, do you peal off the dealership decals from your car, too?

A heat gonne takes off anything, the trick is finding the right temperature. If you get it too hot, it'll take the paint off too...

A piece of nylon string will cut through the double sided foam tape used to attach badges to cars these days. Just use it like a saw and clean up the residue with WD-40. I reserve the heat *** for vinyl graphics.

The heat gonne is the easy, fastest, and best way. I'm not for doing things the hard way. But to each their own.
