32-35mm Road Wheel Advice Needed

Last year I got a couple Schwalbe Marathon Plus HS 348 Road Bike Tire in 32mm and although they work great not sure I could fix a flat on the road with that wire bead.
I need a tire that I can pump up to 90-100 PSI or even more for my weight. I ride mostly road and path.

Any suggestions?

no idea about wire bead.

i will say that marathon supremes were a trial to get on the wheel new, but not an issue at all with my first flat a couple of thousand miles later.

are you using a stiff tire lever?

Specialized has tires on sale:-), and they are folding beads :-). I had never mounted any up before, kind of interesting :-).I have been riding a pair of 700x25 turbo pro, seem nice but I've not had a lot of tires. I see they make a 32 Roubix pro, I have a pair of 700x28 in those coming via FedEx.

20 per tire is pretty cheap :-)

I use the vittoria voyager hyper on our tandem and really like them. They are a folding bead 700x32 and seem to roll much better than the gatorskins we where using. The rear on the tandem gets about 2200 miles before I change them. Amazon has them for @38 with free shipping

Since you have the Plus you could try the Kool Stop tire bead jack and see if that helps your situation first.

I do have and use that but on the road would not have that with me. That is the scary part. If you need that to get the tire back on and you have a flat 10 miles from home your in trouble.

Thanks for the suggestions above going to look into them.

I'm also a fan of the Vittoria Voyager Hyper, though I can't remember if they'll handle 90-100psi. I'm also a fan of Pedro's tire levers. I've yet to find a tire that they couldn't lever onto a rim.

If the fit is so tight that Pedro's can't get a tire onto a rim, I'd ask a wheel builder whether it's possible to add more tension to the spokes. You don't want to go over the maximum tension that the spokes and rim can support, but if you're under the max then increasing the tension may make tire mounting easier.

I am presently using on A719 rims Continental Gator Hard Shell 32 mm folders rated to 90 psi. However I would suggest 32 mm Continental Gator Skins which I believe would be easier to mount than the Hard Shells.
