I wonder how this is calculated. Surely it’s not some sort of direct measurement of weight on the saddle.

Happy you’re able to put in a solid ride shovelhd. I did the same thing, but minus the bonk part . I had a big brunch with the gf and ate a fair bit of Cliff Bar and Reeses pb cups before, during and after mine.

Just finished a block, and am ready for a rest week. My back issues are under control with my more disciplined stretching and strengthening routines, and my fitness is mostly back. Time to do some intensity and start thinking about earning some points.

I don't have many ride options on my lunch break, so I did a Z2-Z3 ride on the super busy MUP. There was a triathlon going on and their run was on the MUP that was still open to the public so I had to dodge all the normal weekend family, weekend warrior, bike rental, clueless, homeless, etc. crowd AND the tail end of the tri-geeks on their run. That was sketchy..... I need to find another approved route for the weekends.

Great work!

Since I put myself out there last week in reference to doing 20 hour weeks I'll eat crow. Had to call the week after my leg issues....I got riding in, but not effective riding. I've had 2 less than stellar weeks of riding now. The muscle is showing signs of healing but I'm going to be patient.

Pretty sure its the pedal angles, so its not entirely accurate; i.e. it works if you traditionally stand forward of the saddle with a lean forward but if you stand and lean back it doesn't work.

it's not totally accurate... it overshoots the standing a little, but not much. I timed it on a short ride and stood for exactly 2min.. the data showed me standing 2:20. Close enough I guess. This was on a quick 15 minute ride to my LBSride.

Devil's Kitchen preview ride (ToC stage 3). Served as fuher of the A group, paced guys back that got dropped, passed out water bottles, etc. Put a minute into a teammate on Devil's Kitchen (2mi @ ~11%), which was really satisfying because I raced yesterday and he did not, and he put a minute into me at the finishing climb at Killington which was very confusing at the time. So it looks like I'm back on form and over whatever weird sickness and lingering crash crap I was dealing with.

4ish hrs, 222 (JACKPOT!) TSS; Burrito o'clock.

It feels good to have a training status: fun! I've been making my way after a, perhaps long overdue, hip replacement. I've been riding outside for about 4-5 weeks. This weekend was the first one that felt like butter: 2.5 hours Friday, 3 hours Saturday, and 4.25 hours today/Sunday (to Rhode Island and back). Endurance is getting decent, I'm feeling good in the saddle, hills are looking and feeling flatter, and I'm getting faster; although, I am far from fast. A very cool thing is that I have a more efficient stroke; the hitch is gone and I can spin circles. Wow, what a difference! Cycling is now much more pleasurable. I'm starting to think -- just think -- about racing.

It is great to hear from you. I've ridden and raced with you enough to know that issue. It was easy to spot. Best of luck with the rehab.

first long ride in a while. 78 miles on the flats in 90+ degree heat. made good speed. but it was pretty miserable. I culd see water vapors rising from the concrete from the scattered drizzle.

Same for me - first ride over 2 hours since the latest crash. Did 4.5 hours or so with two big climbs.

Ribs didn't hurt too much, and hit the best 20' power since April of last year. Still not sprinting though.

Have added some higher intensity stuff for this block. Overall volume steady or a little down. I'm a little concerned about it, now, when I first moved just adding the additional riding time for my commute was kicking my butt, but now I've adapted and it has me a little concerned that in around 11 hours in a typical week, only about 6 of those hours are actual training, the rest is commuting. Sometimes that's recovery riding but other time I need to make sure I'm doing something productive with a 25-30 minute commute each way. Open to suggestions. One option I have is skills work, which I've done a little of.

Ez 90 min mountain bike ride this morning. Not sure if it's legal to post pictures of dirty bikes here, but the scenery was pretty nice!

Right now my favorite high intensity intervals when there is not much time are 10x 30s @ 150%FTP/ 30s recovery. By the end of 10 min my lungs and legs both hate me, also since I have started doing these I am doing better at weeknight crits. FWIW. 15 min warmup + 5 min cool down = 30 min workout.

Occupational hazard.

Could be worse; Horner has crashed at least twice in crits this year!!
