Remove labels / decals from gawdy Bontrager stem

Just reporting that nail polish remover (from the $1 store) worked great to remove some gawdy decals from a Bontrager stem.

I just assume that anybody that has this stem wants to remove the decals, so hopefully this is helpful. Oddly, I couldn't remove the smaller "b" from the stem with nail polish remover, but I was ok with that.

Acetone or MEK is good for removing a lot of stuff.

What about goo-gone?

That looks much better! God... do you think Bontrager could fit more graphics on that stem?

The logo seems to be etched, sandblasted or otherwise embedded in the finish so it won't come off with solvents like paint does.

I thought, yeah, my FSA gossamer stem would look much better plain. (It's not nearly as hideous as that Bontrager stem.)

I have a can of acetone and tried it on the stem. No change at all. Oh well.

I've used acetone on some water bottle logos--it removes some instantly, but doesn't affect other bottles at all.
