bt is a missionary sent back in time to fight off the evil disc brakes of the future. Without him we have no hope in the revolution. He is The One.

Nothing, they hate each other so much that I never actually get moving in one direction. I am left trying to hold them together, because they are so repulsed by each other. I just hope that I get home safely today, given my poor Venge has rim brakes on CF rims. Please pray for me!!!

...I have a feeling you will all be feeling pret-ty foolish when they come out with the new regenerative braking system for bicycle cycles in 2019. Pret-ty foolish.

I actually don't mind the look of the new flat-mounted discs. Sram has some cute little silver ones. Shiny and stuff. Don't you guys like shiny?

Best thing about disks for the road is when the gullible fad-followers liquidate their "obsolete old stuff". Such as 3-year old bikes with rim brakes and 10-speed drivetrains. Bring it on!

I'd say it's mostly accurate. It's just that these concerns are, for the most part, not relevant to you. For my money, and my experience is with mechanicals only, the advantages do not outweigh the disadvantages for road use. My opinion may change at some point, but that's where it stands right now. YMMV.

^This. I remember when I used to race dirt bikes and everything went 4 stroke because the industry found a way to go "green" and make more money at the same time. No one really wanted this, at least not your average everyday motocross rider. Most of us were content to keep our lighter, cheaper, and easier to maintain 2 strokes, but it just wasn't meant to be. The industry was hellbent on going a different direction, and so the story goes...

On the Audio Karma forums the big argument is vintage vs. modern hi-fi. I guess on BF it's rim vs. disc brakes.
Personally, I prefer the modern hi-fi gear. I don't care for turntables or real-to-real tape. I also like the convenience of files stored on a hard drive. Much better than going through the whole album "ritual" thing, if you ask me.

Pun intended, or not?
