Yes, connoisseurs like yourself more readily see more of the truth and aren't as easily blinded by superficialities. Over the last year or so I've learned to notice things right away that before I couldn't distinguish from a hole in the ground. Of course we can't argue matters of taste, but that doesn't mean opinions are all of indifferent value. Some are supported by logic and truth and others are based on fallacy. I just thought I'd point out what was appealing and why it seemed to be "getting off easy." That's how it is, though - if it's pretty enough or shapely enough, some people lose sight of the "beauty inside." Not saying that Cannondale is a bimbo, but I think you get my drift.

Thank you, I just picked up the wheels, in the light they have a bluish tint to the spokes.

Hey guys here is my contribution to the thread, tell me what you think. I have mostly been on track/fixed gear bikes but made the switch to road and have been building up this Focus for a couple of months. It was apart of a local college's team set up. pretty basic so far but that is to change. Sorry if this is not the right thread for this just thought I would share.

In the wind
Here is a little nicer picture. This bike certainly does not photograph well. The color is much nicer in person. Wait til you see one. There is only one upgrade pending and it is a Contact SLR carbon stem. It will be 120mm once I get used to the new geometry which has not given me any problems. It will be VERY aggressive with time.

I like the concept but those bars are tilted in a way that all aero benefits are immediately negated.

Big Chainring in front..small in rear is preferred for pics
Your tire is not lined up with valve (writing should be near valve)
Crank arm lined up with seat tube is preferred angle... atleast for me.
Bars are kinda tilted up too... but I can let that slide if it allows you to ride![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
and then there is the pedals...but same as above

tdong's bike is simply not hot, and the wacky bar angle is no small part of it.

Much as already been pointed out. You should set up the bike for you to actually be able to ride it, not for HrN. The real problem is that you bought the wrong size/type of bike for you fitness levels and flexibility
1. Rocket launchers and mismatched cages.
2. Bars rotated so high that the drops probably aren't even usable with a huge spacer stack and flipped up stem
3. Pedals
4. Tire labels not lined up
5. Ugly and excessive chainrings for a road bike
6. Poor cabling job

The seat doesn't have the proper setback for a road bike.
The forward position is designed for a rider who is bearing his weight on his forearms. With road bars, you are now required to sit upright like you would on a beach cruiser. This completely negates any and all benefits of having this bike.
The bar position is comfortable because you redesigned the bike to be ridden in a way it wasn't designed based on making it rideable, despite the fact that it now has an effective top tube length about 5 inches shorter than a road bike would.
The way it sits, you don't get any aero benefit. Less than a proper road bike and way less than a proper tt bike.
Those are some of the wrongs, but the worst is that it looks awkward.

Agreed...I wasn't much of a fan, but what I've been seeing lately, it seems Giant has stepped up their game.

I'd love to see full fenders and different chainring, but I wouldn't kick it out of bed.
