Sure you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm very glad to be able to choose to avoid such an intersection.

Evening commute was pretty sweet. Temps were in the mid-60s F. Lovely fall afternoon.

Nightfall caught up with me mid-ride, so I had to stop to put on the helmet light. Still a sweet ride overall.

48• degrees durning my late night commute home. Dark and finally cold enough to give my fingers a little chill. I wore shorts with lightweight tights and a cotton button up. Still too warm for tights.

Slightly warmer today at 40F, but I am not as cold today. On the past three morning rides, I have noticed that the colder weather does one thing. At the end of my 50is minute ride, I really have to pee! There are a couple of construction port-a-johns along my route I may have to start using because dang, that's not comfortable.

It's the time of year for extra layers in the morning, less in the afternon. The temps are getting up to mid 70s, so that has been real nice for riding.

Another chilly morning commute with temps in the upper 30s. The temps have been inching up each day and could be in the 70s for the ride home. I had forgotten how much the lower temperatures cut into your pace, and my average speeds have dropped about 1 mph this week.

One of those mornings when I just didn't want to go outside. But since I still have to work, I did. A chilly 47F - probably felt that way because of the headwind. These winds have been goofy - I keep thinking I'll have a great tailwind for rides home but they're just angled enough that there's a crosswind. Sigh

Wonderful ride! Left a little later than i wanted, but had to get dinner together in the crock pot, and couldn't find my knee warmers. Temps were warmer today, somewhere in the mid to upper 40s. 3rd day in a row...which is rare for me. Tomorrow and Friday I will be taking off from riding, as I have a century this Saturday. Ordered a 2nd set of lights yesterday from Performance with a helmet mount.

Another warm (mid-60's), windy ride to work this morning. Wind has been consistent and strong all week.

I have noticed a little bit slower pace since it has been colder. I have also found that I push it where I know there are Strava segments. 2nd day with Garmin 800. (so much cool information) I enjoyed riding this morning. I made good time and was able to get extra miles in. Pretty good considering it was pretty much dark when I left. I wore my wool SS jersey with a yellow long sleeve over top plus a vest. I eventually took the vest off. We recently bought one of these and I really felt like people gave me much more room today! I like it because it is reflective and bright but not something that will trap a lot of heat.

Perfect weather going home yesterday. 72° with a slight tailwind. But now the park by the house is closed for the Christmas lights (closed 3 months out of the year which SUCKS!), so I'll have to use my alternate route nearby from now until after Thanksgiving. At that time the park is open for cars to go through to see the lights after paying the fee, so I just ride through there in the reverse direction. The money takers at the entrance have never said anything when I zip by.

Yesterday, however, instead of trying to climb/hop the gate, I just went around to the adjacent neighborhood and walked up the hill between houses to an opening in the park fence.

Drove in this morning but I'm riding home this afternoon. Temps around 70 will be nice. Not too many days like this left this year. Have had a annoying sound and slight wobble when pedaling under load on my new bike. I checked the pedals and cranks and they were fine. I checked the bottom bracket and it was somewhat loose. I was able to turn it about a 1/4 turn without much effort. I'm hoping this fixes the problem.

It was a very nice commute to work today. My first all week, though I did have Monday off. The temp was so warm this am no gloves were needed. There was fog and a very fine mist in the air.

I got one of those for Christmas last year. It is a nice add-on without extra warmth or weight. I'll wear it in the mornings and pack it for the ride home.

Really? You must be warmer than N. Carolina. Mid-40s for my ride in and definitely needed gloves.

Yes, but you didn't answer the question: How was your commute?

I had a faster than normal ride home last night. It wasn't particularly windy out, but I must have had some sort of tailwind. Normal speed lately has been around 15 - 15.5mph. Last night was 16.8mph. It sounds small when written out like that, but sure did feel faster.

Some pretty cool fog this morning for a little bit. It was mainly through a neighborhood, so not a traffic or visibility concern really.

Nice tailwind for the ride home last night and a temperature around 80F! I kept thinking... "I shouldn't be sweating this much 2/3 of the way through October". Oh well, it beats ice & snow which I'm sure will come soon enough.

Drove today because of an off-site meeting this afternoon (and Thursday is often a non-ride day for me anyway). However, there is a good chance of rain/thunderstorms tomorrow morning so that could be interesting.

it was, though I am not sure of the exact temp it was above 50f. And because of your good advice I know never to leave the house without gloves below 50f.

Another uneventful commute. Forgot to charge my speaker so I had no music this morning. I'm loving the new traffic lights by the new outlet mall set to open next month. One of them replaced a 3-way stop sign, but it stays green almost all the time for my direction (dead-end road with only a church from the other direction) so now I usually can go through there without stopping or even slowing down.

Consecutive commute #123

34 degrees this morning, but no wind so I rode the fixie. Still wearing shorts but it was towards the lower edge of comfort, at least for the first few miles.

Stopped at the dentist on my way to work. He drilled a hole in my tooth. I left a lesser man.
