Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Removing tiny paint drops from frame?

Hi guys, found a cannondale I like on craigslist near me, mid 90's, good bike, but the frame has tiny white specs of paint all over it. Guy said he did it accidentally while painting his garage. They are probably 1/16th of an inch or the size of 3 grains of sand, and a few hundred of them. Is there any way to get these off? Could I possibly get really fine sand paper and re-clear coat the frame? Or is there another way?
Thanks

I would start with a fine polishing compound, it contains both solvents and mild abrasives. Overspray on an unpreped surface is usually not that hard to get off.

Wipe with acetone, it may come right off.

Can you pick them off with your thumbnails?

Try a clean soft rag with rubbing alcohol.
Cheers

If it is latex wall paint, then there is a 3M product that removes it. I ran thru house paint spilled on the road with my car a while back and it worked really well. The auto parts store recommended 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner.

Put a bit on an old rag and some elbow grease and that should do it and leave your finish in nice shape.
