Cervelo rider, please lube your chain
You have a really nice bike and I'm sure it was expensive. I'm also sure you are a very busy man and can't ride very often, but please lube your chain. Hearing it squeak like that makes _me_ suffer and I don't even know you or your bike.
Your bicycle is crying. Please spend 10 minutes to take care of it.

I feel your pain.
Of course, I feel his pain too. I once had a chain start squeaking at the end of a long ride. I was sure I'd lubed it recently, but there it was. I wanted to scream "I AM SO SORRY" at everyone I rode near.

I'll have to put a small can of WD-40 in my jersey pocket and do en passant cassette lubrication for unsuspecting squeakers!
Psssssssssssssssst!

and people wonder why I wear headphone! Chain noise drives me so nuts. I wonder if there are any single use size lube packages (like a ketchup package)? If there are, I'm gonna fill my jersey pocket with them and toss them at all the offenders.

Why not just give them the ketchup packets? It may not help the chain-squeak, but you can amuse yourself with the quizzical looks on the recipients' faces.

Now, I don't use it myself, but I found this about the special blend of lubricants in WD-40...
"Myth: WD-40® Multi-Use Product is not really a lubricant.
Fact: While the “W-D” in WD-40® stands for Water Displacement, WD-40® Multi-Use Product is a unique, special blend of lubricants. The product’s formulation also contains anti-corrosion agents and ingredients for penetration, water displacement and soil removal."
