When was the last time you rode your bicycle?

I last rode Friday, March 11. Saturday AM I had to go downtown to meet my older son in the underground concourse among the office towers, so it was simple and easy to go by subway. I walked partway home above ground as it was a lovely day. I went out later with my wife in the car as she prefers that mode.
Sunday I stayed home all day doing office work, general puttering, lazing and laundry.
Today I have to go to two work sites and I don't have back-up dry clothes at both, so it was too risky to bike on a rainy day, in case I got drenched. If it was just my one usual site where I always have backup clothes, I would have tried it. So public transit again.

Yesterday, since you asked. I usually don't participate in these Facebook type, personal blog threads.
In ½hr I will repeat the same 11 mile R/T to the hospital gym and swimming pool I do every day. On the way today I will stop at the recycling place to get rid of some deposit cans and bottles. On the trip back I will alter the route to include some shopping at Walmart and maybe make another stop at the local casino for entertainment. Perhaps more to the (car-free) point, I haven't driven anywhere in my car in the last month except for two visits to an oral surgeon located in Iowa City 75 miles away. Next week, my wife and I will drive to the Quad Cities to spend some time with our son, DIL and our grandson. I keep a bike there too so I can take a daily ride if time and grandparent duties permit.

We had two good rides (85 km & 67 km) on the weekend in northern Tasmania. Riding up there is lovely ... great roads, beautiful scenery. Makes us want to move to that part of Tasmania!!

First thing I thought of was, he was a minority in a place with few minorities thus the cops acted a different way towards him ...

Back on topic - I last rode my bike this morning.
The weather app on my phone said the rain had already stopped for the day, so, ignoring the fact that it was actually raining, I biked in to work in office clothes and a nylon shell. The drizzle was pretty light and thanks to the March school break there wasn't much car traffic to splash me, so the gamble paid off, and all I had to do at work was put on my indoor shoes and brush a few light flecks of mud off my lower pant leg, and I'm good to go.

The last time I rode a bike was Monday, and it wasn't my bike. It was one of the thousands of bikes in the Citi Bike sharing program. I rode about two miles from home, to the post office, and to my subway station. It was raining and windy and cold, but I didn't mind!
On Sunday, my wife and I took a fun ride through Manhattan on our own bikes. We went about seven miles. The weather was beautiful.

Yesterday I heeded the storm warnings on my phone app, and although ultimately the torrential rains and gale-force winds didn't actually happen during my commuting hours, they did occur on and off through the day, so I'm glad I didn't risk it by cycling to work.
This morning it was cool (1C/34F) and calm, so I'm back on the bike. After a winter of mostly colder weather, these temperatures seem mild.

13 hilly and spirited miles yesterday as soon as I got home, the sun was out for the first time in weeks. Then 3.5 more to do some errands last night. Didn't want to take the time to do them on foot, and driving is too much a pain in the ass. The ride was very enjoyable.

10 miles last night, for groceries. I took the scenic route, over Queen Anne.

Well... I rode today... I think I can say that every day... a 4 miles trip today to volunteer at a community bike ship. Rode back to have a couple of beers. Tomorrow it's trip to the grocery store and maybe a ride in the country. Monday it's a ride to work and back.

We've been riding the last couple days ... gorgeous weather, nice and warm and sunny. Approx. 25 km each day.

Haven't ridden for a week. I worked out of town for the 4 workdays last week, and walked 5 times one way, taking the hotel shuttle or a cab the other times. Over the Easter weekend I mostly stayed home but went out twice in the car with other family members on errands. Today is still a holiday but gloomy and wet, so I don't think I'll bike until I likely commute tomorrow.
That's like a month of commuting for me.

Friday. To the bike shop and Critical Mass ride.
I have an electric car, and so am not as cool as you car-free folks...

57 miles Saturday. Went up to see the tulip fields. Wanted to go before the festival began. Took yesterday off from riding but did all my errands on foot, walked close to 10 miles.
