got the working wrong.
but purpose is important.
and the bike.
value is a quality ride.
tires and wheels seal the deal.
at any age.
YMMV

One of my local cycling heroes was Gordy Shields, who lived into his mid-90s and was doing some serious bicycling through his early 90s.

That's encouraging. I have a friend who rode his age in miles until he was 82. I think he's converted t Kilometers now.

Maybe I will order that custom I've been thinking about.

I love it!
I will be 70 soon, and also hope to ride in to my 80's.

Best regards

Still cycling at 81. Average 75 to 100 miles a week depending on weather.

My last year's 52 mile to Lake Ontario from Syracuse NY:

Another 50 mile ride from Cape Elizabeth to Camp Ellis, Maine

I have a new hero. A new 'role model' and someone to aspire to.

Hah! Got me. Changed it, then looked it up. It is indeed "role". Good April Fool's joke.

Paging Rudy and Kay. 83 & 80 years old.

45,000+ miles on that tandem, no issues so far. Attached pics of when new, and shot taken last year in Logan, UT.
In our opinion/experience there is no need for pilot suspension; heck, stoker Kay has only test ridden various suspension seatposts and never has used one on any of our 5 tandems snce 1975.
Pedal onTWOgether!

So, Rudy was 70 when they had their custom tandem built.

Hey, that's actually pretty good. My mind isn't working too well yet. Have the day off and maybe it's time to get out of bed and take a ride. The day is long enough now so that it's not so cold up here in the desert at this hour.

My group has a lady and a gentleman that are both 83. We ride 50 miles 3 days per week and they are always there. I think the secret is to never stop.
