Rear Light Visible in Daytime
Looking for a rear light that is visible in bright daylight.
Bontrager Flare R looks pretty good, with rechargeable battery.
Would prefer it to have a clip so I can attach it to my Topeak saddle bag.
Would appreciate any suggestions.

Guess I should have specified a price range.
$75 or under, preferably.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
EDIT: I should also mention I highly recommend using the seatpost mount if it fits underneath the saddle bag. It is a really good light, but it's best if it's solidly mounted and pointing directly at traffic.

I have and really like the Flare R. I also have (somewhere...) a similarly rated Serfas light (USL-TL60). I did have someone ask about my Serfas when I had it on during the day, but I could tell he was a rider so he was probably already looking for me. The kicker for me on the Bontrager is the irregular flash pattern. I compared them side by side one night, and the Serfas really was just as bright on the high setting, but in broad daylight I think the irregular flash of the Flare R has a better chance of being noticed. It's an attention grabber night or day without being obnoxiously bright on the night setting.

I'll check-out that Serfas.

Farmer tan
WF-501A or WF-501B (longer, larger battery). $10 on ebay or dx.com. Strap to your left drop and turn it on/off as needed. Get the 5-mode with blinking.

Cygolite hotshot pro 80. Only had it a month and already had a few drivers comment that they could see me in the daytime.
I would not clip it to seat bag as it will hang down and shine on the ground, not up into traffic.
Comes w seat stay and seatpost mount.
$42 on Amazon.

I use an eBay China cheapo and it works well, but recently I was driving and saw the brightest bicycle tail light I'd ever seen so I caught up to the rider and asked him about it.
It was a Bontrager Flare...

I saw a Cygolite Hotshot 2W blinking on a bike a hundred yards ahead during a sunny day. Not bad at all.
During the day, I'd want a blinky for two situations:
1. Riding through alternating sunlight and shadow from trees, so I'm visible in the shade. Any of the newer tail lights would be fine for this.
2. Giving a long distance heads-up for (possibly distracted) drivers on a highway. I'd like the blinking to catch their eye a quarter mile away or more. This needs a bright light and careful aiming. (And a dimmer mode for night time!)
At sunrise or sunset:
Any blinky is good. If the sun is in the driver's eyes, a really bright light might be safer.

have you set your hotshot on the brightest setting? .... Some people are unaware that you can set the brightness
