Thank you.
That shade of green seems to Cannondale's go to color.
The Trek is much less forgiving. Not twitchy but more like a road bike vs. a hybrid.
I also have a Terry Saddle on the Trek so its a bit more comfortable.
I truly love both bikes, and hybrids make riding so much more enjoyable.

My JBC has been awaken from it's sleep (storage) and the road bike put to sleep. The reason is cycling for the next 7 or 8 months will just be a recovery exercise because I'm finally returning to motorcycle racing 6 years after a spinal surgery.
Cycling doesn't offer the type of fitness required for motorcycles, that only comes from riding the motorcycle so I'll be doing that mostly and I'm already behind on that because I've had Ross River Virus the last 2 months, Google that if you like.
The JBC was in need of a total overhaul taking the whole day, came up looking OK I think.

Looks like I need to change the Sram X9 rear mech to XT because it's not playing nice with the Shimano shifter. I just assumed it would work.

Forgot about this thread. Saw a work stand in the ad for Aldi's for $30. Figured what the heck, I'll check it out. Didn't want to spend $80 or whatever on one, but for $30.... Turns out it is pretty decent. It's heavy and solid. Sure is better than my previous of a pipe clamp mounted in a bench vise.
Also wanted to get a bit more upright for flat trail riding. My arms tire out pretty good. Bought a Richey adjustable stem and installed it after getting the work stand.

I have been commuting 25 to 50 miles a week for the last month or two and was not happy with my seat. I had the day off today and went to the LBS for a fitting. Tried a few saddles and ended up with a Terry Liberator. Money back guarantee for 60 days so now I just need to put some miles on it. Also, adjusted seat height and slid the seat back. Feels better but need to put on some miles to know for sure.

Upgraded the Grips
For I while, I've been meaning to change the grips on my commuter, '10 Jamis Coda Sport. The stock ones were thin, little cushion, and were slowly moving around the bar. Two weeks ago I picked up a pair of Ergon GS2 grips, at Sea Otter Classic, and installed them today. What a change! Took the bike for a spin: solid feel!

Thanks for the advice, issues with that are now noted. I did have it clamped to the seat post when I was installing the stem. After I figured I'd snap a pic to show my ride buds at work and just tossed it on the frame like that. I didn't think about the cables though, but I'm sure I would have noticed when I tried to activate the rear shifter had I been working on it like this.

As I morph my bike from being simply brand new to being a commuter also, I am slowly adding various things to it.
Here it is after I have added my Mirrycle Mirror to my handlebars.
I find it makes such a difference to my peace of mind and riding experience, having it on my bike.

In addition to the mirror, I have also attached the connector for my 300mm U-Lock and for those of you who have never been happy with a U-Lock connector, I have to say this Abus system is perfect, holding the 3+ lb U-Lock in place without any dramas whatsoever, yet it is so easy to attach and detach to the U-Lock connector.
The seat tube of the Giant Toughroad is bigger than the seat tube of my old Trek 830, so I needed to go to the hardware store and replace my 5mm bolts that were 30mm long, with ones that were 40mm long.

I replaced the original Tektro Auriga brake pads with Clarks Organic's. Wow what a huge difference. The bike stops so much better and plus it's quiet! I used to get all kinds of gurgling noises with the original pads and it's completely silent now! I did read these pads don't last as long, but it's worth it!

Aside from the saddle bag with the all the necessary gear (tools, tubes, and patches), I ended getting a rack to transport the bike to all the trails near me.
